Default Clearancing the vortech inlet tube for the t trim blower

How much work is this and what do you use? Do you just have to grind it down and 1/8" of an inch all the way around? I know that greg does them, but he's on the east coast so it definately won't be an afternoon swap if that's the case. If it's too much hastle then I'll have to send it out and the car will be down for a week or two.

Default 'T' Trim Tube

Hey Qwiketz,

The quest for 'more power' keeps on tickin and you're bound to get a lickin - LOL. Anyhow it's never that simple. First you have to make a new outter ring and weld to tube. Then the inside must be machined to the new diameter. When you're finished machining there's next to nothing left of the old piece - that's why you have to make a new outter ring.

I sell them on an exchange basis for $150.00. I keep one in stock for guys like you that would die without your wheels for a week.

Regards,
Greg

another reason I brought up modding it is because I just powdercoated it to match the exterior of my car. I can always redo it, but I'm not sure that somone would want a screaming red inlet pipe.

thanks for the input greg!

took a look at the inlet tube and there is no way that it will fit a t trim. Greg, Mo got the t trim in, but all it took was the measuing of the inlet tube. One measurement and we knew that we weren't even in the ballpark for it....

BTW, I have a t trim in my garage on my mustang that's not hooked up or anything for future reference.

qwiketz,

I had Greg modify my inlet tube for my T-Trim and weld in the bung for the alky and what else can you say - it turned out great as expected.

Anyway, don't mean to hijack your thread, I was wondering who did your tune (same with you Mo), just looking at some options.

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

no problem glenn. Mo' does his tuning via tunercat I believe.

I do mine the super basic way, via the fmu bleed off valve, btm, and alky flow. I have a progressive alky kit, so I play with the maximum alky flow, the step up ratio, and the starting point of the flow. I monitor what's going on via datamaster. Once I log everything, I usually ask mo or the guys on the forums if I have any questions. It's my 3rd supercharged motor but it's my first chevy, so I still am learning.

It's a work in progress. Next steps are to replace the ac temp reading on datamaster with the output from my 2 bar map sensor to log boost pressure into the program (datamaster doesn't usually log that on the corvette version). Also I need to buy a wideband.

Sweet, another So Cal boosted vette. Mo and I were talking yesterday, and we'll probably get some guys together and go cruise somewhere once he gets his new motor in the car around Christmas time.

Tell us more about your setup ect. I'd love to know the details since you have a t trim.

Default 'T' Trim Tube

Hey Qwiketz,

Offer still stands - powder coating makes no difference - it has to come off anyway. Take one of my converted tubes, get it powdercoated and after you install, send me yours for core credit.

Regards Greg

thanks greg. I'll be in touch shortly. I'm working on a deal for swapping m s trim for a t trim. I'm also thinking about going to your 8 rib balancer if that goes through.
