Default Need packard connectors for wiring harness....

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the packard style crimp connectors that fit in the weather pack gang for our fuel pump wiring harnesses.. any info on where I might be able to find these locally or look for them and I would appreciate it! thanks in advance all!

PS. Racetronix might know where I can find them if anyone knows those guys email directly, I would like to shoot them a message and see if maybe they know!

thanks!

Chris

Hey Icvette,

Sourcing OEM style connectors is a little more complicated than one may think. The reason is that if you go to someone's catalog like "www.waytekwire.com" you'll see all the pins and seals and tools for crimping and you'll see a 4 way 'tower' and a 4 way 'shroud'. However, to match the 4 way fuel pump connector on the '89 & up L98/LT1 there is only one connector 'keyed' correctly out of the half a dozen or so that are available.

In general you can try your Chevy dealer first, they often sell repair kits that contain the right parts. If you don't have the proper crimping tool it can be done carefully with oddball tools or you can buy the tool from a source like Waytek.

I'm not in the business of selling connectors but I do have a large inventory of Delphi connectors that I use for making wiring harnesses etc. and would be happy to sell you the correct 4-way fuel pump connector. Connectors are 50 cents, pins 25 cents, and seals 15 cents.
Regards, Greg

Hey Greg,

thanks for the post.. I have several of the housings, but ranout of pins..lol I am just integrating two racetronix harnesses for a twin intank pump assembly and fell short a little, I was hoping I might eb able to find them at the chey dealer, but last night I ordered some from quickcar racing products, your prices are way better! lol I paid double.. 49cents a pin which was all i needed and of course i got a removal tool. I have a set of specialized crimps from Suzuki from being a dealer for service work and those crimpers with the rolled edge work the same for both styls, roll the wedges into the wire for a positive lock1 thank you for the reply! and I need to get one of your PCV valves here real shortly.. you don't happen to sell the rubber gromet for the intake as well do you? I cannot find the one I had.. go figure a 2 year project and things come up missing even as carefully as I catalogged everything.. thanks in advance Greg!

Waytek wire is a great source for these connectors. But you have to buy several as there is a minimum order amount for each connector. And you have to purchase male, female, seals, and the terminals separately. So if you only need a couple connectors, Greg is offering a great deal because if you buy them from say MSD from Summit the get $6 for a dual connector.

HEY GUYS,

NAPA carries all the GM weather pack connectors that you would ever need. The only problem is that if they don't have the pins in stock you usually have to order a box of them. But a box of 50 pins I got for $8, or you can pay $0.50 a piece from the dealer.

Chris, I've got a few(48 to be exact), I'll mail you some if you still need them.

The pep boys in my town carries the pins in the electrical isle. Check your local one. They come in Packages of 10 and 20 in the smaller ones.
