Default How come my power curve doesn't keep climbing?

Do your vortech power curves(hp) keep climbing toward redline? Mine looks like the power curve of a n/a car on datamaster.

My 02's drop down slightly from being slightly rich to almost slightly on the lean side for a f/i combo, and the power level still doesn't climb. I'm seeing a pretty consistent level of boost toward the top end, about 7-8.5 psi. My hp peak on datamaster is at about 4700 rpm.

I have a super free flowing exhaust, lt4 intake and cnc'd heads. Do I need to do a cam swap at some point? I have a circa 1998 cam in there. I think it's a "hot cam". It was installed in the car at the same time the heads and intake were done.

When I'm running the car through the gears it sounds fine. It just doesn't pull at the redline like I'm used to with a vortech on there. How do your curves turn out when you use that program with you're blown setup? Or am I reading this thing wrong or have the wrong filter setup?

Yikes! That looks to be all wrong for your blower.
Starting from the motor my observation would be:
-Cam:You mentiond it's a 1998 hot cam? Are you sure it's appropriate for a F/I setup?
-Heads:CNC'd so I would "assume" you are getting adequate flow
-Retard: Any KR involved at that rpm?

From there, you mentioned a free-flowing exhaust and you have an LT motor correct? So that would mean you have the factory "headers" which should provide enough flow for this to work properly.

I know this sounds "duh" but are you getting consistent boost throughout the pull? Check for belt slip.

Mine keeps pulling right up to the 5500 red line. Is your belt maybe slipping at high rpm's?

I don't know what the cam is, but it pulls just slightly less vacuum then the stock cam pulls. It pulls about 16-18" As for the exhaust question, it has hooker long tubes, custom 3" dual cat h pipe, 3" b&b exhaust. No, there was no knock above 4500 rpm.

Slip, I'm sure I'm getting some because boost doesn't continue to climb nearly as agressively. It levels out at about 8 psi.

What I'm getting at, is with boost being fairly level, wouldn't the motor be injesting increasing amounts of air with increasing rpm causing the hp to still climb?

or

Is it just how I have the datamaster program filter for the dyno section setup. I'm running filter "2".

As for the cam, if I were to swap it out I'm 100% sure I'd see big gains. i know with my mustang, my cam now is light years ahead of the one I bought in 1999 and it's the same with these cars. Also, the hp peak is pretty low. I'd imagine that it would be more toward the 5500 shift point.

I'd say belt slip or cam... you cam is a touch on the radical side... it should be almost a stock profile with maybe higher lift...

Mine would keep pulling up to the redline as well...
