Default best guages to get with supercharger

i just bought a gauge pod for my car with a boost gauge. its a 94 m6 vortech 7-8 lbs car. what other gauge should i use besides the boost. i was thinking of a wideband but i heard the alky injection i run would make it not accurate. is this true? maybe a EGT?

I think most of us have the dual gauge pod, with boost and fuel pressure gauges.

I've got Boost/vac and a trans temp gauge, a must for us cool auto guys

I've got a stage 3 shift kit on mine with a manual valve body, Brings back the fun of a 6 speed without ever having to worry about messing up your shifts.

THe wideband gauges are OK with alky injection. I would use either a innovative or PLX. I just had a AEM on the real dyno the otherday and it was way the hell off from the dynojet dyno (2-3 points in some areas)

I liek fuel pressure too if you can afford the space.. Not required though.

The only problem with fuel pressure is that if you see the gauge and its not where it should be, then its already too late!

Its not like the first time it runs lean it will blow up. As long as you stay away from detonation you have a little time to correct the problem.

Its nice because you can find problems... I had a car on the dyno last week that was flying lean pretty much after 4500rpm.. he had a in car fuel pressure gauge and we watched what it was doing... from 60 psi ->30 right at 4500rpm. (it was a LS1, thats whypressure was so high)

It was convenient though because i didn't have to get out my fuel pressure gauge. Problem turned out to be a bad filter.. (woudl you believe that? only 30k miles)

That is incorrect, WBo2 will read accurately enough with Alky.

Have a 383 with Vortech and additional fuel control plus alky. I am installing fuel pressure and boost.

Where do you guys have the guages mounted? I've seen a lot of 'A' pod mounts but I want to put the guages down by the shifter or on the console (in place of the Bose ornament). Where's the best place to get the pods?

Mine is an '87 as well, and I run them on the A pillar. The boost and fuel psi gauge are nice, but I always have the datalog from FAST for anything that I really want to track.

I got my A pillar from Summit.. I have fuel pressure vac / boost... and a PLX... Like Alvin said it's god to see whats going on.. if it's dropping better pull out...

I "herd there is a slight shift with alky methanol but it doesn't seem to be "drastic..."

I run my PLX at between 12 - 12.5...
