Default 1971 Chevy Corvette - Custom Coupe

Very Cool Custom Vette! Set up the right way!

1971 Custom "Ferrari Red" Chevy Corvette with T-Tops.

Brand New 454 Big-Block engine (less than 30 miles on the engine). The car has 44,000 original miles on the body. I am the second owner of the car and know the history of the vehicle. All New Front Suspension, Doug Nash Racing Transmission, Racing gears in the rear, Western Mag Rims, etc. All custom design: flared rear wheel wells, low front end scoop, hood scoop, whale tail, headlights hidden under aluminum front grill. Frame is in excellent condition (no rust, no accidents). You must see the pictures. Go to www.ebay.com and do a search on "2485593361". The car sold for the Buy It Now Price, but the buyer never came up with the money.

I have all the maintenance records for the vehicle, and the title is clear and transferable. The car recently appraised at $26,000 and I have the appraisal. I have over $30,000 into this car and I have the receipts.

Vehicle Condition
The car is in excellent condition and is ready to show. The vehicle is currently registered and inspected in NYS. The vehicle runs superbly - incredibly fast! The vehicle was last completely painted in 1997 in Ferrari PPG red paint. The paint job has been partially restored in 2003. The interior of the car is immaculate with Recaro racing bucket seats and safety belts, crushed black velvet interior and rugs. The Pioneer AM/FM cassette desk customized stereo is incredibly loud with many extra Jensen and Pyle speakers in the rear and front. I have many extras with the car including T-Top Cover Bags, dust cover, extra equalizer and tweeters, touch-up paint, etc.

Terms of Sale
The vehicle will get turned over to the new owner with registration and all documentation upon full receipt of payment made by cash, check, money order or wire transfer. The buyer has 30 days to complete the entire transaction. A 10% down payment is required to hold the vehicle for 30 days. The buyer will pay all shipping/delivery and title transfer fees. Recommend a flat bed truck for shipping the car to its destination.

Price
The price of the vehicle is 26,000 obo!

Features

 New 454 Big Block Engine
 All new front suspension
 New Battery
 New Radiator
 New Alternator
 New pulleys and wiring
 Almost everything new under the hood!

How long has $26000 been "low 20s" ?

Good luck with your sale.

The car appraises at $26,000. I will sell it for $23,000. That is the low 20s. Sorry if my ad was in anyway misleading.

Why am I a deadbeat? Why would you enter negative feedback on me? I will sell the car for $23,000. The car appraises at $26,000. Everything you read in my ad is true about the vehicle.

Yeah, the guy never paid me for it. He said he wanted to bid on the car but not buy it for the Buy It Now Price.

I would even pay someone 10% to sell the car for me. I can't even find someone to do that without charging me $100 per month to store it. I also, really can't afford to have the car shipped to the West Coast.

Some constructive criticism. Since it seems you are having trouble selling it.

Part of your problem is that people wanting a 71 (chrome bumper car) don't really want it customized (no chrome bumper) or want to do it there own way, not that your way is bad.

Also anytime you post "(title not included due to the age of the vehicle)" and use a "hotmail" email account that scares potential buyers.

Unfortunately any customized car is not worth what the sum of the parts are. Also you need more and clearer pics. From the pics and info posted its only worth about 12-15k if you can find someone who really likes a chrome bumper car with chrome bumper removed.

Thanks for the constructive criticism. My car does have the chrome bumper however. I do have the registration for my car which I would turn over to the new buyer. The NYS DMV has given me a written letter stating that on a 1971 the registration is proof of ownership. I understand that many people do not want a custom corvette. There is no way I am selling this car for less than 22,000. I would be crazy to sell for less. I don't need the money that badly. Also the pictures I did take were bad and were done with a disposable camera. Do I really need more pictures of the car though.

Really a nice Corvette! You have done a great job with it. If I am not mistaken, you mentioned this car to Kara a few days ago while talking about customized Vettes. Afraid you are correct though, most folks now seem to want the same thing found next door, around the corner or the co-worker in the parking lot at their job. It is still puzzling though because yours is nicely & professionally done - not overdone. Plus, it is RED - and the first color anybody/everybody thinks of when the word "Corvette' is breathed is red! Why, I don't know....maybe I have just not been around long enough. I have a red Chevy C1500 p/up, have had a red F-Bird, a red T-Bird, a red Chevette and seems like everything else I have owned that is not red on the outside is red on the inside! So, I look for anything but red Vettes....otherwise, I would consider yours. I guess I am just different. Oh well, to each his own and I am getting way off track. Good luck - hope you get close to what you want. I would say it is well worth your asking price. Perhaps it is just the Vette market in general and/or time of year.

More pics can only help. If you do a search on ebay look at the dealer or broker listings they have 20-30 pics and when you click on them they fill up the entire screen. Also you need a digital camera, scanning a printed pic just does not look good.

Regarding the title. You are just going to have to find it, or get a duplicate or some other documentation in addition to the registration if you want to sell it outside your home state. Call the BMV in your state andf have them trace ownership and ask what it will take to get a new or duplicate title. Nobody is going to hand over $22,000 without firm and accurate documentation.

Hope it works out for you!
Mick

I would be willing to sell this car for $20,000 right now, which is a steal. Is anyone looking for a great custom 71?
