With the expected arrival of our second child I have made the decision that it is time to sell my 82 Collectors Edition.
The Collector Edition marked the end of the C3 era and the stingray body style. This limited production car (1 of 6759 produced) was not overlooked by GM engineers when it came to design and style. This car was loaded with features like, power windows, power locks, power seat, telescoping and tilt steering wheel, removeable tops, cruise control, and a first time every offered hatchback style rear glass.
Further styling was enhanced by a silver biege metallic paint job that features a fading stripe on the hood and sides of the car. The leather interior was created to match the effect of the stripes. Collector Edition badging and wheels top off this truly beautiful piece of machinery.

Condition
The paint on this car is glossy and really shines. I believe the paint to be original with some touch ups over the years. The strips are in great shape with no cracking.
The interior is also in great condition with no cracks or tears in the leather.
Engine compartment is clean and still retains the original GM stickers.
Overall on scale of 1-10 I would rate this original car as a high 8 or low nine. This car is 21 years old and does show some aging, but overall it looks and runs great.
Other worth mentioning: tires are like new, transmission was recently rebuilt and updated to 93 specs (last year for this transmission 700R4). NO LEAKS, this car is dry!. I used to be a mechanic by trade, and I am very maticulate when it comes to my vehicles. I have the window sticker framed as well some other items like original press release kit, posters, manuals, etc.
If you look at the value of this car over the years you will see that this one continues to increase in value. This was the first corvette to ever have a sticker price of over $20,000 and will soon be valued at that price again. If you are looking for a great driver, or clean addition to a collection, don't let this one get away.
I have the car listed locally (Northern CO) at $14,200.
I thought I had this priced to sell, but still no luck. I have dropped the price locally to $15,500. Does this sound right for this car, or is it just a timing thing?
Thanks Desertdawg, I was hoping it was the economy and not the price as I really feel this car is well worth what I am asking. Hopefully, someone will agree. BTW, nice looking car!
I wish you were closer, I'd buy it tomorrow! FYI, that's not a joke, that's just the car I'm looking for (for the wife, believe it or not. I'd get it for myself, but I've already got a 66.) :D
Be patient Jefsvet, that is a great price for a nice car, and someone will take it. I fell in love with the Collectors Edition when I ran across one here on Okinawa that was totally restored, looks like new. I've been out of the States for about ten years, so my chances of viewing nice Vettes are pretty slim, so when I see a Vette in any condition, I stop and look. The Okinawa Collectors Edition is like a phantom, I've only seen it twice, and each time, it is a real eye-catcher. Believe me, were I there, I'd be interested at your price.
