Default Found a 1968, need some advice

OK...guys...I found a great looking car. It is a 1968 4 Speed Vert, Silver with black vinyl and a black top. It is not a numbers matching car, but according to the owner (he is the 3rd owner) it was originally a 427 Car. It has since been restored back to it's original condition with the exception of the engine which is a rebuilt 350 with 5000 miles on it. I guess the top has been replaced, it was just repainted ($5000 in the paint so he says). Tires, brakes, exhaust has been replaced in the past year also. He wants $21,000 OBO for it. He also stated that the frame and cage are both straight and without rust. What does anybody think about this one? Any help is appreciated.

That's a little high for a NOM steel bumper car, granted it is a 4-speed convert. I'd suggest $15K if it's in great shape and runs well.

It sounds pretty pricey to me. It loses a lot of value without the original 427. I would think $15-$17k would be more realistic if it's as nice as he says.

$21,000. ...He is living in fantasyland for NOM.

It would have been worth that much or more if it had the originial big block.

# 1 cond. Roadster with NOM = $14,000 and maybe $15,000.

Thanks for the help guys...I am still a little new at the Vette thing, but learning alot from the forum.

So does anybody know where to find what I just described for around the $14/$15 K range? I would like a 68-70. I really want a vert also, either Silver or Red.

Thanks...

Way too much for NOM. Just keep looking...you'll find what you want for that price. Make sure you have it checked out by someone who's really familiar with early C3's before you buy.
