Default Thanks for the tips boys... but...

I understand where your all coming from. It unfortunate because I don't have that kinda money to spend right now (I'm still trying to pay off my SUV). I was wondering if there is any model that I can maybe scoop up somewhere for that price range, in a bit better shape than the 69' preferred but again I'm not picky, I don't think he is either. He's a huge Corvette lover and I just wanna make him happy. Maybe one day I'll be able to get him his 69' or better yet he can get his own :D

You are very unlikely to pick up a Corvette (any year) for $2K that is not in need of major repairs/restoration.

Matter of fact.. you would be hard pressed to find one in boxes for that little coin.

Best bet is to save about 10k and then you can get a nice base driver

These guys are being discouraging keep looking I picked up a 79 Vette in great condition. for $3,000. Needed about $2,000 more to be in mint condition. They are out there. Just have your money ready cause they do not last long when you run up on them. The 79 in my sig pic is what I bought. Sorry but it has already been sold. click on my link in my sig to see more pics of it. It is at the bottom of my web page.
Good Luck
Bob

Bob, I just visited your site and truthfully, i don't believe you spent only about 5grand on it altogether. It looks way too nice for 5grand. From the pictures you put up, the interior looks in very good condition also. How in the world did you pull that off? I dont have a big budget (read my sig.) but I could afford to buy a vette, otherwiseknown as my dream car, for 2 or 3 grand. If are good at finding these deals, or just happen to come across one like it, please let me know. Theres nothing I want more right now than a c-3. :chevy

I got lucky as well. I have a friend in CO that did not want his 79 vette anymore. It needed a lot of cosmetic work, but she runs good. I paid a whopping $650.00 which was the shipping cost to NJ........I will have her at the next corvette challenge at e-town.......
