I'm trying to locate a 69' any model. The only criteria I have is a decent body (does not need paint, can have little dents, missing minor pieces) a chassis in good shape, and that's about it... engine optional!!!... I want it to be a complete restoration project car. Its for my finace and I know he'd wanna put his color and his engine in it.. but an engine would be nice (for my sanity) And preferably under 2000... he can finance the rest. I just want it to be a surprise. If ANYONE can give me some ANY advice it would be sooo greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hi Dakota Girl. I don't mean to rain on your parade. I am excited to see a women who understands our compasion for cars. It's a very sweet jesture! Unfortunately, I don't think anyone will be able to help you find a 69 for $2,000. Maybe you better think about a Camaro or a Big screen TV or something. Best of luck with you pending marrige, It sound like he is a lucky Guy!
:iagree: Good idea, but for under 2K, you aren't even going to get a nice rolling chassis. You'd be better off spending 8-10K to get a decent, driveable, small block coupe. At least then all the parts would be there. For under 2K you would be looking at a bare frame, and I mean BARE....no a-arms, springs, nothing.
Unfortunately, I agree with above. Plus, you have great taste - 69 is a desireable model year, but I have seen "projects" that I personally did not think were worth $2k end up going for $5k. Problem is, the value of the parts sets a lower limit on the value of even the rattiest projects. MJ
