Default Stingray or not??

Am I correct in that 1976 was the last year for the Stingrays?? If so, what are the 77s considered? Is there a huge difference in value between a 76 Stingray or a 77?? I have looked at a few 74s and 73s and I like everything about thems (I am looking for orange or yellow) but a 77 has come up and I was wondering if I should hold off for the right Stingray or make an offer.

Correct...76 was the last year that had the stingray emblems.

Not much difference in price from a 76 to a 77. If its a nice 77 I would go ahead and make a offer.

The "STINGRAY" Is an emblem there are some minor changes to the interior of a 77 from 76 :steering: :steering: :steering:

And remember, the '76 used the Vega steering wheels. :D

The '77 uses a different center console, more like the later models. The center bezel is more conducive to modern aftermarket stereos if that's your thing. The '77 is the last year for the small vertical rear window. Also, in '77 Chevy started painting the engine blue instead of orange.

Apart from the trim differences, there's not much to tell the '77 from the '76.

I think the answer you're looking for is does "Stingray" indicate any special trim or performance option(s) and the answer is "no" - it's just an emblem.
