Sold - 1974 Corvette L82 Auto Restomod $25K
SOLD 1974 Corvette L82 Automatic for sale. VIN 1Z37J4540356
Same owner for last 20 years. Always store inside. No driving in rain or snow. Premium (no ethanol) fuel only.
Purchased from Casey's Auto Sales in Rapid City, SD in the summer of 1999. Car did not have original 350 motor at time of purchase.
I have spent an embarrassing amount of money and time over the last 20 years restoring / modifying this Corvette. About the only parts not refurbished, rebuilt, or new on this vehicle are the rear leaf springs and coils.
*Engine - Pulled the non-original 350 and built a Big Block (454 block bored .30 over w/ 427 steel crank). Engine and 2.5 inch exhaust system (no catalytic converters required for this model year) were built and installed in 2008 by Paul's Engine Repair and Machine Shop in Box Elder, SD to include new engine bay wiring harness. Paul's specializes in race car motors. Engine bay paint and prep work completed by CrossRoads Auto Body in Rapid City, SD. Engine specifics: 4 bolt main block/surfaced. Crank balanced. KB 10:1 Dome pistons. Scat Forged 4340 Rods. Moly Rings. 781 heads. Pocket ported. Double springs. Surfaced. 2.19 IN/1.88 EX. Ferrea racing valves. Melling Cam 513/230. Double roller timing set. MSD Ignition. Holley 770 Street Avenger.
*Transmission - original TH400 was rebuilt by TransTech Transmission in Rapid City, SD in 2009. Mild shift kit installed.
* Rebuilt / Converted to 3:73 Gear Ratio / Drive Shaft balanced by Inland Truck Parts Rapid City, SD 2009
* New master cylinder, brake lines, calipers, rotors, pads from Vette Brakes & Products installed by Paul's in 2009
* Power Steering Pump replaced 2009
* DeWitt's Aluminum dual electric fan radiator
* AC condenser was removed (All ductwork and wiring harness remain - could add condenser and brackets if desired)
* Spare tire and mounts were removed
* Front Suspension - Performance Suspension Technology Poly front end rebuild in 2009
* Body work, weather stripping, all new glass (windshield, rear window, side windows), shaved luggage rack, fiberglass front & rear bumper cover, all new lighting (housings and bulbs), new emblems, L72 hood install, and paint completed by ScottRods in Rapid City, SD in 2011.
* Power Window Regulators replaced in 2011
* 255/50/18 front / 275/50/18 rear Firestone Wide Oval Indy tires w/ Boss 338 chrome wheels.
* Engine detailing and tuning conducted by Gene at A1 Auto Restoration in Rapid City, SD 2012
* All new ielectrical wiring installed by Dakota Battery Rapid City, SD 2018
* Converted original tan interior to black with a complete interior kit including ACC Heat/Sound Deadener purchased from Willcox Corvette and installed by Vinyl Pros Rapid City, SD 2019
* New Classic Cars Stereo 2019
Just about every miscellaneous part has been replaced on this Corvette (hoses, vacuum lines, headlights, switches, taillights, lamps, brake lines, heater box, weather stripping, etc). Orders were placed through Willcox; Zip; CorvetteAmerica; Ecklers; and eBay. I have all receipts and literally thousands of photos detailing the process and the condition of the car. I have owned this Corvette through 3 military deployments and 4 house moves. Would love to see it go to a good home. I have no illusions of recouping all of my money on this car, but I know this car could not be duplicated to the same quality for anywhere near the dollar amount to what I am asking. South Dakota Title in hand. Serious Inquiries only. $25K

Any chips, scratches? Leaks of any kind? How would you rate the car from 1 to 10?

Just took her for spin yesterday. Probably rate it as a 8, but I might be being too critical. Everyone who has worked on it sure does love it! No scratches. One very small chip on passenger rear quarter. No leaks besides the usual spit of oil when it's first started after it hasn't been driven for a while. Very fast, but still a joy to drive. It's an extremely nice, clean and well cared for car that I think anyone who sees in person would be impressed with it's quality. I can provide names and phone numbers of the Painter, machine shop, upholstery shop, etc for an independent review of its quality for a potential buyer. Each would give an honest assessment.
Thanks for asking!

Thank you for getting back to me. I am very interested in your car. I have a few issues...I am in Maine and the cost of shipping could be an issue. Maybe other members could help us with this. Also, my private messaging does not work.
If you could give me a call tomorrow that would be great, maybe we can make this happen.
