'1972 LT1 Corvette All original 21,731 mile unrestored pampered survivor. New brakes and tires, Runs and drives like a new car."

Seriously? For $35K? If it sounds too good to be true...

If it is true and a survivor, what do you think its worth?

I would think this car at a dealer would be in the 45 48k range, if it were a 97% 98% Top flight car maybe 52k. .

I've seen LT-1's for sale with asking prices much higher than that. Mind you, these were asking prices, not necessarily selling prices. Even so, I'd expect a true 21K mile survivor that 'runs and drives like a new car' to be well north of $50K.

I agree with Firstgen...there have been a number of low mile survivor's offered in the high 40's low 50's that haven't sold after advertising for months.

I'm always hearing about these cars- cars that sound like great deals to me- but never seeing them advertised. Where are all the 'really nice chrome bumper verts for $25K' that I keep hearing about? Or the cherry LT-1's for sale in the 40's? Sure, I see cars in those price ranges, but they are generally not what I would consider a really (really) nice driver, which is what I am looking for. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong places?

Tim's car with 15,000 miles was advertised here in the range we are discussing for months and it is a super car! The red survivor from Texas advertised for months on the Yenko site and the NCRS site for $49K is a really, really nice car but still hasn't sold. a 15K mile 71 LT-1 advertised on Hemmings for $52k for months and months...etc. etc.

So I have been tracking the LT1 cars as well and I think they are really undervalued right now. There are nice original examples form 32k to 45k and haven't sold yet, like the cars mentioned above.I know a few sellers that had their cars on consignment and they didn't sell so they brought them back home. BTW Firstgen, the car for sale in this thread is the same one that sold 6 mos ago from the long time owner in NJ. I know you track these cars as well and probably remember that car being listed.

Price drop,
Corvette 1972 LT1 - $29800 (Porterville)

Buyer beware, advertised in Riverside craigslist but ad says Porterville. Porterville is hours away, why not advertise in closer to Porterville?

Something smells wrong, caution advised.

It tells you people want new air cars and paddle shifts. These old cars require to much work for the amount of time you drive them, and a LT1 car is no rocket compared to a late C7. So even if they cut there prices in half there is such a small market for these cars now! So it is not a loss they are taken it is garage space they are getting back besides the insurance costs!

The ad is not a scam. The car was owned it's entire life by someone in NJ then purchased 6 mos ago by someone in California. It is a real LT1 with paperwork and 21k actual miles. I have been talking with someone on the forum that was looking for a nice C3, he went and looked at the car and ultimately decided to purchase the car. Here is the window sticker

That would be me. I have been wanting a C3 for a long time and am very excited to get such an untouched example. I can't wait to pick it up!

Congratulations! Please keep us posted, as I for one would love to hear about your experiences buying the car, as well as your adventures going forward. Perhaps those of us who are still looking could learn something! And more pics, perhaps in a new thread in the General section. Good luck!
