F/S Original 1971 Convertible LS5 4spd AC Plus Hardtop
Hi, I am selling my car! This is an original car all numbers matching except for the brake master cylinder. Its an AC 4 speed that has a white soft top and a matching hardtop. I am asking $47,000.
I have had this car for 17 years and have poured my heart into getting it to where it currently is. This is a very special car that I believe to be one of one as ordered from the factory.
I purchased this car in Spokane WA. It was a complete original car all intact.
I have opted to stroke the engine and update the internals using competition cams cam and solid roller rockers. The engine was just completely rebuilt and is running 9:1 so it can run on pump gas.
Please see in my profile for some pictures here on Corvetteforum https://www.corvetteforum.com/g/album/4635650 and also see more information at http://1971corvetteaz.com/

LS5 turns 0-60 mph at 7.4 seconds. In the new Car & Driver mag, the new Chrysler mini van turns 0-60 mph in 7.2 seconds. Shocking. Very pretty car!

Thank you guys for the complements!
JR9170 can you please provide me a link to LS5 thread I would be happy to add to it!
Skytop, this combination is a 496 CI internally balanced like a 427 set up so its more like a LS6 when you drive it. I don't think the torque curve of a minivan looks like this one.
Revi I will post the curves, but when I made those runs it was running a bit retarded to maintain detonation free operation. Since I have dropped the compression to 9:1 and it can advance on this new set up beyond what I dynoed. ~ 350 HP/460 ft/lbs at the rear wheels. With a 18% drive train loss that's ~ 413HP/488 ft/lbs but I am sure it will now make more. I only have 50 miles on this last build so its a baby.

Thanks papolim, I also like this color and so did many people back in 1971. This is a Pearl but was called metalic back then. Chevy introduced three colors with this pearl/metalic finish and it really grows on you.
jr9170 I will post some pictures if I can find the right place lol

Thanks Brandons72vette !
Best way to curve your 1971 Stock distributor (Dizzy) is on a Sun Distributor Tester. Keeping it real but helping it out just a bit with a Pertronix unit. No messy points (but I have them if you want them too!)

I have seen those vinyl auxiliary hard tops...they don't add to the shape of the car. The factory painted tops keep the lines clean IMO. What do you think?
