The term "LT-1" seems to be used more loosely today than ever, as I noticed another 70-72 Corvette advertised as an LT-1 only because the engine was rebuilt to the respective specs. Buyer beware, as models prior to '72 do not have the engine code in the VIN.

What questions would you want to ask the owner to confirm that it is an original LT-1....or is there any way to be sure?

The best confirmation would be the original build sheet. See if he has a scan of it but it may be missing Otherwise some other sort of convincing paperwork.

My vote: "Yes" on the price being to cheap at $21,500 for a restored LT-1 T-top. Oh darn it, this isn't a poll
