FS: 1976 Bright Blue L48 4-Speed - great shape, needs paint
It is with great sadness that I must part with my Stingray. I am the 2nd owner of this Corvette and have had it for just over 7 years. My wife and I are starting our family and some unexpected medical costs are forcing the Corvette to find a new home. I am hoping a forum member who will finish it and take care of it is interested so I know it is going to a good home.
The Good:
-all original
-strong motor and transmission
-Hurst 4 speed
-popular Fiero seat conversion (have the originals)
-no more Vega wheel (have the original)
-approx 62,000 original miles
-solid frame and suspension
-Magnaflow full dual exhaust with headers
-Kenwood CD player/radio
The Bad:
-AC blows, but not cold
-trip odometer does not work (reads 000.3)
-clock does not work
The Ugly:
-needs paint
The pictures should speak for themselves, but please let me know if there is anything you would like to see. This is a solid car and a great driver. Painting it is my last step and was on the list for this summer, but sometimes life gets in the way of what you want. I am asking $7500 for it. I figure that is pretty fair since it will be worth $15,000-$20,000 after it's painted.
Thanks for looking.

Also...
The dash was out of the car when I got it. I replaced the speedometer cable and replaced all the light bulbs in the dash. The car was gone through by a professional automotive electrician and all the wiring is 100% sorted and in in perfect order.
Last summer the pressure plate in the clutch cracked. The entire clutch was replaced by a professional Corvette mechanic and only has a couple hundred miles on it.
I have service records for everything.

Put freon in the AC to see if that does the trick. This way the potential buyer will know if they have to had that to the expense list. I would also inform your fellow forum members if the lights, horn and wipers work. Walk around vedio of the car showing everything working also helps. I will be having reconstructive surgery on my left knee so no standards for me at this time. Otherwise I think your price is resonable if all it needs is paint. GLWTS

I think you are solidly in the zone. Yes, the car has some issues, but it appears you have already priced those into what looks like a solid driver needing some finishing work. I would only offer that you remove the kick panels and take photos of the bird cage and some frame/chassis shots. Those two areas are very important to a prospective buyer for a car coming out of the rust belt. Good luck with the sale.

Insurance appraisals are worthless when placing a value on a car.

Price reduced. Three buyers lined up and all fell through at the last minute. Probably for the best though as a couple of them would have Bubba-ed this car. It deserves better.
$8500 and a bump for the weekend.

I need to follow up with the household tonight, but, I have been looking for a C3 project for a long time.
What kind of options does this car have? I saw it def has ac.
I like the interior a whole lot, but, birdcage solid?
I think making a bringback trip out of it, would be awesome, just need to think hard first.
Interested!

It has power steering, power brakes, tilt/tele steering wheel, deluxe interior, and factory alarm (which actually works, ask me how I know). I have the original t-top bag in the storage compartment in the car.
I do not have any birdcage pictures, but you can see from the condition of the frame and floor that this C3 is not rotting away. The interior was out of the car when I got it and there were no birdcage issues then. Everything was solid behind the kick panels and dash. The top of the windshield also has no signs of rot. If you decide you're interested, I will pull a kick panel and get a few pictures before you fly here from AZ.

Random question - Irrelevant to everyone who inst driving it across country, do you have an MPG estimate?
I was ballparking 14.

I think your ballpark of 14 mpg is a good guess. Engine is stock and the carb is tuned well. On my drive home from Milwaukee I stopped 3 times in 400 miles. Of course, my gas gauge was in a box in the trunk with the rest of the dash at the time, so those calculations were based mostly on hope and luck.

Don't want to keep you all hoped up.
Apparently I have "Too Many Projects" As is per the household
If you still have this when I finish a few, I will give you shoutback,
Nice car man!

PM me if you want to set up a time to see it. The car is right off I-74 so it will be easy to find from Indy.
