[F/S] 1977 White / Red L-82 (Not Road Worthy) 3-Speed Auto
Price drop
[Asking: $3,500 OBO]
For sale is my beloved 1977 Corvette; it’s time to hand her off into more capable and resourceful hands, to give her the love and attention she deserves.
1977 Corvette Stingray
This car has been garage kept for the majority of my time with it, though, in the last 6 months or so she has been relegated to the drive way (covered). It is currently running (although not in driving condition). I originally took it off the road due to a troubling (still undiagnosed) engine noise that developed while installing a new distributor; coupled with frame rust, I simply cannot maintain this car.
The Good:
The Not-So Good:

Please contact me if you require any additional information. If you desire additional pictures, please provide me the specifics, and I will get them at the earliest convenience.
You can contact me through email, PM on CF, text message, or by phone (between the hours of 10am and 10pm); though, I would prefer email/text.

1977 Corvette Stingray
- White
- Red leather interior
- L-82 Mostly Original (Not Running)
- 42,000 Miles
- 3-Speed Automatic

I originally took it off the road due to a troubling (still undiagnosed) engine noise that developed while installing a new distributor; coupled with frame rust, I simply cannot maintain this car.
The Good:
- Very low mileage
- Almost all original L-82 engine, ran strong until I took her off the road
- Very strong and healthy Turbo-Hydro transmission
- Attractive, and original, body and paint (with small chip on the hood) 6-7/10
- Door jams appear to be unmolested and in good shape
- Bird-Cage appears to be sound
- Nearly new tires
- Nearly new replica rally wheels
- Interior is in phenomenal shape, with typical foot bed wear
- Mostly working electronics
- Very toasty heat
The Not-So Good:
- Engine not road worthy (unidentified internal noise)
- Frame rust (as pictured) along the passenger side rail, towards the front
- Though nastiest at this point, there are spots throughout
- Experienced overheating problems in peak summer when car was running
- A/C has been deleted
- Minor scratches and imperfections in paint and body

Do you have any pics of the rest of the frame? kick ups? rear of the frame by the gas tank? Front suspension mounting points? cross members? floor pans? birdcage? body mounts?

I was able to get a few shots before my phone died. I will get back to the car tomorrow to get the rest of your requested pictures.
Here is an album with the photos I was able to get.

What you see is me working around the frame, starting near the passenger side back tire, and working counter clockwise towards the frame and around.

Here's the full album of requested shots.
I wish I could provide better pictures but, in its current state, the car is hard to move and get on jacks.

Thanks,

what a shame, that's a nice looking car. Aint scared of noise but lots of work to swap frames. Heck, I gotta an engine in the garage. My 86 is in the back yard on blocks for tranny pull.. wife would kill me to drag home another wounded warrior.

Alot of work to swap frames, but the worst is the "while Im at it..." bug you can get when you have the body off the frame...

This has got to be the most honest and genuine advertisement I have seen on this site ever!!!!!!
Kudos to the op! Providing the most detailed pictures and disclosing EXACTLY what this car is all about.
This car NEEDS to be brought back to life. Period. And there is someone out there that would love to do this.
I am curious how one fixes this frame and calls it a "frame replacement?"
Where does one find such a frame or does it have to be built homemade by someone?
This is most interesting and it would be great for someone on the forum to purchase this car and show us how it is done!
Good luck with the sale and thank you for being such a great seller.

The best way to fix this car in my opinion is to find another 75-77 frame and lift the body off the rusty frame, swap the suspension/drivetrain onto the new one, and then reassemble. If one side of the frame looks that bad (and repaired crappily with bondo to cover it) I have little faith on the rest of it. You could try to "repair" that frame, but looks a little far gone to me.

I don't want to start asking a bunch of questions about frame restorations in the OP's for sale thread.
In the meantime, good luck with the sale and hopefully you will find a new home for her.
Best regards.
