Default F/S 1969 BB Project Car

1969 BB project car thats 80% complete.

Original 427/390 Motor completely rebuilt and installed.

Original Heads

Original (M20) 4 speed trans installed

Original suspension completely rebuilt and installed

Original exhaust manifolds

Original (308) gear rear end rebuilt and installed

All parts are correct numbers matching from the carb down.

New front clip. When car was professionally soda blasted to remove old paint. I found that the front clip had been damaged and would need a lot of work to fix it correctly. Since I wanted this car to be perfect I replaced the clip. I still have the old clip.

Body work was done when front clip was professionally installed to get the car ready for paint. Car is currently in black primer and ready to paint what ever color you choose.

There is no rust on this California car including the bird cage.

Complete set of side pipes that are in really good shape. Outside pieces except for centers have been re-chromed. I have new exhaust as well.

Bumpers, and all the stainless are in really good condition.

All new wiring including main and vacuum lines.

Original radiator has been re-cored.

Gas tank was cleaned and reinstalled with new sending unit.

Rare F41 suspension was sandblasted/powder coated and reinstalled.

New shocks

Original T3 head lights

Steering column was completely rebuilt, installed and works perfectly. New steering box.

New PS and PB installed.

New brake lines, calipers, and power booster. All installed

Original hood and wheels in excellent condition. Hood also in black primer.

Pretty much everything that could be powder coated was.

Correct plug wires, hoses and clamps, expansion tank and belts all new.

New never used vintage CA. Plates.

Currently in the wiring stage.

This car was originally a River Side gold car with a Tan interior. When I bought the car it had a black interior. The interior is pretty rough and I was planning on putting in a new one, but you could use the old one.

I have owned this car for 7 years. This has been a slow process because of traveling for work. The reason I am regrettably selling is I am moving to a place that does not have garage space to store the car.

I wanted this car to look like it rolled off the show room floor when completed. Put a new interior and paint job on this Corvette and it will.

Titled and currently registered in my name. Car is in northern California.

There is well over 30k in the car, I have a book of receipts.

16,500

Thanks for looking

Hi d2,
Interesting project!
Was the new front clip a factory style clip or a one piece?
Is the car an original side exhaust car?
Is there any documentation for the car?
GOOD LUCK!,
Regards,
Alan

Alan,
The new front clip is a one piece from Shimmer Shine and cost 4,000 plus 1,000 to have installed.

It is not an original side pipe car. But I love side pipes and have a great set to go with this car.

The previous owner an older gentleman did not have documentation, but had all the correct parts. I had a Corvette owner/enthusiast verify everything before I bought it as I was living in Arizona at the time.
Thanks;
Scott

I think you mean Sermersheim, which is pretty much the best reproduction fiberglass. While it came as "one piece", I don't think Sermersheim makes one piece front ends. I believe all their front ends are assembled from individual parts, like original. So yours would have the bonding strips on the underside. Some of the cheaper reproduction front ends really are "one piece", which means they're press molded from one single piece of fiberglass. You can tell the whole front end has been replaced because there are no bonding strips. Hope this is helpful.

Looks like a great project!

Your right it was from sermersheim. The clip is perfect, and does have the bonding strips on the underside.

Hi d2,
That's what I was getting at.
On a 'nice' car I think it's a good idea to use the assembled front clip if a clip is needed.

Alan

Thanks Alan,
I wanted this car to look like it rolled off the show room floor when completed so I never considered anything else. Starting to get more interest, I think people are starting to understand just what I have here, and how easy it will be to complete.

Thanks, whats great is that he is only 15 minutes away and will stay in touch. Also the car will be restored to original Riverside Gold with Tan interior. I have no doubt after judging he will have a Top Flight award.
