75 C3 Ecklers Wide Body Can AM, Very Rare
75 C3 Ecklers Wide Body Can Am. 88,000 miles. I swapped my 87 C4 for this car even trade.
I don't know a lot about it other than there were about 40 of them made in 75-76 and then the molds were destroyed. The guy I got it from was going to give it to his grandson but he dosen't want a standard. He saw my c4 and asked me if I would be interested in a swap and I said sure, half jokeing. I really didn't know what a
Ecklers Wide Body Can Am was. When I went to look at it my jaw dropped. It looked like a show car and I loved it at first site. I took it out for a test ride and it really flew and the standard four speed really made it pop. I drove it for a few miles and everyone was spinning there heads around to get a look at it. He said he wanted his mechanic to look at my c4 and I said to myself, well here goes the deal. My c4 would puff blue smoke when you started it up because of worn valve seals that I was going to take care of this winter. After his mechanic OKd my car for his as I was driving it home I felt I had just robbed a bank and kept looking behind me for the cops, (not really). I have no idea what this car is worth so if you would like to look at my pictures maby someone can tell me what it is worth and give me some history on it.

Do you know anything about the Eclkers Wide Body Can Am? I am looking to find out more information about them and what it might be worth. All I can find is few others around but not much history. You can see the pictures in my garage.

He traded you straight up for the wide body C3? No cash or anything? And the guy is giving your C4 to his grandson? Besides the valve seals needing replaced on your C4 what were the specs on it? Please post some pics and tell us more!
This is a good place start for more info on your car.

Just Google "Ecklers Can Am" and many results will come up. The real question is, is yuor car an Ecklers built car or done by a shop commissioned by the previous owner. It definitely screams 1970's but it is very cool in my book. What is it worth? I would suggest putting an ad up for it here or even consider putting it on Ebay to let it get some more exposure.

[QUOTE=btshuttlenet;1575760801]You know the 6 tail pipes are kind of hokey. When I get some money I will pick up a used set of Lakers with the four into one which will bring back the original look that it needs.

Looks like a good body job whoever did it. Just seems like it would be alot of work to make a 75 look like a 78 custom. Are you sure it's a 75? Regardless, looks like you made out on the deal providing all of the documentation and vin plate are straight. Looks good Vette brother and welcome to the C3 side.

Clear title, 75 C3 and an even swap. It's hard for me to believe myself. When I take it out for a ride I see people turning around backwards to see this car go by. Really, this car is in such good, no great condition I could put it in a car show tomorrow. In fact, I am putting it in the "World of Wheels" in Boston at the convention center in a few months. Thanks for looking.
