Just wondering, around how much would a 1 owner , 1974 ,454, 4-speed in very good condition w/38,000 Calif. miles would sell for now-a-days? ............. Jeff

............or less if the owner lost interest years ago.
My experience with many older one owner vettes that I have looked at has been finding them not driven for many years but the original owner unable to part with them for sentimental reasons. They look good at first glance but closer inspection starts showing what someone will be needing to deal with if it starts being driven on a regualr basis.
This does not apply to all of course but buyer beware on all pruchases is the general rule.

Hi Jeff,
I think how original, (what ever that means today), the car and it's part are, could affect the value. Untouched cars are very sought after by a segment of owners.
Regards,
Alan

Thanks to all for repling. I'm told that because it has "Rubber Bumpers", don't expect much. Over the years i've had multiple cars at one time, so I mainly drove the Vette on weekends and summer months.I JUST took the Vette out of hibernation last year after an 8 year rest and spent $8,000 in replacing all the suspention, calipers, brakes, shocks, radito r,hoses, belts, carb, stater, fan & clutch, tires and more. The A/C belt is not connected, so I do not know if it works. By the way, it's a "T-Top..Maroon & Blk. I will post pictures once I figure out how........Jeff

Sure it would be worth more if it did not have rubber bumpers. But it has a lot of thing going for it, big block, 4 speed, low miles, CA car and 1 owner. Still going with 18.5.

Sounds nice, look forward to seeing some pictures. If you took your original purchase price, add to it the $8,000 you put into it, then you might actually break even which very few of us owners could do today. I was looking for the one owner cars in the past and they are becoming a rare commodity for sure. If you have good documentation and it comes with the car I would say you will get more activity and a better price as well. Did you keep your original parts for the radio, carb, starter, alternator, etc? Might help attract NCRS or Bloomington Gold owners as a Bow Tie or Survivor car in those programs as an unmodified, unrestored original. Good luck with your sale should you decide to part with it.

Documentation is key in establishing top dollar value. Do you have the window sticker, tank sticker, bill of sale, receipts, etc? The more the better, especially for a low milage 454. $18.5 doesn't sound unreasonable to me....
