Yes it is. That's why its not $50K!
I just received the NCRS Shipping Data Report on the vette, which confirms the early production date, VIN, and the dealer information. It is an original California car, which made sense since it was sold by Corvette Mike before it came to NJ to the previous owner.

I've never seen a LT-1 C3 with air. It's a beautiful car. Wish I could take her home. Good luck with the sale and thanks for sharing the pics!

Great car. I was the top bidder in your first auction, sadly even at the great BIN price you have now it's still more than I have to burn on another toy at the moment. Good luck with the sale, someone will be getting a tremendous car.

Thanks I greatly appreciate that. And if it weren't for credit, I wouldn't be into these special Corvettes either!

If someone wants to step up to the plate, I'll let this professional level collector Corvette go for a firm $38K. You'd be NUTS not to grab it for that price. If I don't sell it on the forum at this price within a week, it will go to a dealer on consignment. And cost MORE to cover their fees. Please don't waste my time or yours with any lower offers.

I saw this vette as a dealer consignment at Corvette Mikes in Anaheim CA for 26K 5 or 6 years ago. All Mike's cars are the real deal. I think someone from lakewood owned it. Paint looked OK then but it looks a lot better now like it has repainted in the last 6 years. Good luck with the sale

Thanks for the info and for confirming that it was at Corvette Mike's in California. That's what I was told by the dealer I bought it from. I also have written verification of this from Corvette Mike's. It did get a top quality repaint within the last 6 years, when it came to New Jersey.

Today the car was entered into an AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) event, where it was judged and earned a GOLD award in Stock class.

I saw this car in person this wekend at the car show...nice ride and a good deal for someone. If it was a few months from now and my '70 was sold (will be on here F/S in a bit), I'd be driving this one around town.

Good luck and nice to meet you Saturday.

PS, I could only muster a Bronze trophy in same class and I had my baby shined to the max and this car kicked my butt!

Thanks Tony!
There are a few of you who have to sell your C3's first. I know. I've been there before. And you definitely won't have any problem with that beautiful '70 convertible.

I discussed my car with Drew Papsun last night (Judging Chairman of the NCRS Northeast Chapter and owner of a '72 LT-1 A/C coupe) who has it in his registry for these cars. He was very supportive of my car and gave me alot of valuable information on how special these cars are.

Now I'm going to list it on *bay one more time, before it goes to a consignment Corvette dealer.

Default Documentation for LT-1with Air

For those who want "documention" from one that had the tank sticker from another one on the production line (which was common), I offer this piece of evidence that it's an original "AC" coupe. This is also written under the rear deck, near the (sealed off) Atro Ventilation ducts.

I also found the original carpet mfg labels, verifying the early build date of this '72 LT-1 with A/C.

Its a nice car but seriously..... $100,000 in a couple years ????????
You definately can tell were talking to a used car saleman. Your not even sold at 40 and the recession just started. Reality will set in shortly.

You obviously don't talk to people who know the potential of certain Corvettes and watch ebay too much. Did you read T. Michealis' page on the internet? 1972 LT-1: 1,741 produced - value $60K up /
Add air and price soars, especially convertibles (less than 50)
http://tmichaelis.com/archives/categ...storical-facts

How about the fact that all of the big collectors are hanging onto these for a reason? They are the ones stating that these will hit 6 figures soon. The mid-years have peaked. The chrome bumper C3's are next up. And what other C3's will bring the money? There were over twice as many big blocks produced than LT-1's for 70-72. And they were available with or without A/C. But the LT-1 is a "Special High Performance" engine that could give the 454 a run, without the weight of a boat anchor up front. And it red lined up at 6,500 rpm. So these were the 427/425 engines in another era - both solid lifter, high revving, "Special high Performance" motors that weren't available with an automatic transmission or Air Conditioning. That makes them pretty unique. And desirable.

I don't need to talk to a "used car salesman", with 35 yrs of restoring, showing, and eventually selling classic Corvettes. I wonder if you were around in 1983 when I bought my '66 427/425 convertible for $8K, sold it in 1986 for $18K, and by 1990 it sold through Corvette Mike for $80,000. It then went on to get a Bloomington Gold and ended up in the Chip Miller collection. By then it's value had to be over $125,000. Yes, I probably said the same thing you did back when I bought it. And so did others. But now nobody is second guessing limited production, high performance cars anymore.

As far as why I'm not even sold at $40K..., those of us that have these rare A/C LT-1's talk all of the time. And we get a kick out of the jealousy that comes out of those like you who have no clue what the differences are in these cars, how and why they were built, and what the value of these will be very soon. So unless you see an end to the world by 2012, stick around and watch you eat your words. My reality is that I'm getting divorced. Otherwise, I'd hang onto this and enjoy the ride. Or I wouldn't consider less than $50K right now. I wonder why GM is still producing $65k and $115K Corvettes if things are that bad and NOBODY is buying?! And we know which direction the value of those goes, as soon as they leave the dealer's lot.

Some people just don't know what they are talking about Ken. In collector cars, 'rare' can be relative, but at the end of the day, 1 0f 240 is on par with ANY definition of 'rare' in the collector car market. Can't be argued.

There are haters in every crowd.

Rare doesn't necessarily mean desirable. 3 speed standards are rare but there's a reason for that.

This car, on the other hand, is rare and desirable. I have no idea if it'll ever be worth six figure, but I do know I'd love to have it.

Nice LT-1! Good luck with the sale, the right person will get a great car. Would be nice to have yours sitting in my stable next to a 72 LT-1 convertible (targa blue on saddle - paint/trim override per order copy).
