1981 LS6 SuperCharged Tube-Frame Custom Coupe
This one-of-a-kind Show Winning Corvette was the August 2008 Corvette Enthusiast Cover Car and was also featured in the 2008 Corvettes @ Carlisle Chip’s Choice Display along with several other incredible “Vette-Rods”.
The foundation is a Tube frame from SRIII MotorSports. The DriveTrain consists of a 2002 Corvette Z06 LS6 Motor with new Heads, Cam, Stainless Works Headers, and a Magnuson Intercooled SuperCharger. As you can see inthe pictures below, a little “Bling” was thrown in as well.
A Camaro T56 6 Speed with Hydraulic Clutch Conversion and Denny’s Driveshaft Heavy Duty Aluminum Shaft connect to a Dana 44 with new 3:90 Gears. C4 Corvette Suspension front and rear with QA-1 Coilovers provide the adjustable ride control.
Since completion in 2008 the car has been driven only 1400 miles.

I want it. In 2008 I followed the progress of this car here. I bought a black stock one in 2009 which suffered heat damage while servicing the transmission. The shop caught on fire and the car was inside. I will through some numbers together and possibly send a message. Congrats on the car

It's also a great Sunday cruise car. Crank up the Stereo and go. Or just enjoy the sidepipes.
There are a couple of forum members here that have either been in it or driven it. Those that have gone for a ride or driven it have all gone away with a big smile. It really is a fun ride. You could take it to the store, cruise over the mountains, down the highway, and then run a 1/4 mile blast if you wanted to (might want to swap for some drag radials though ).

Joe,
How does the handling compare to that of a C5 or C6?

If I had the choice of Driving this or my C5 I would take this everytime for a number of reasons. Mostly Fun Factor though and the 81 is like a slot-car on rails. The suspension is adjustable as well. You can swap out the coilover springs easy enough for different spring rates and the rebound on the QA-1's is adjustable with the turn of a ****.
My C5 was set up with Z06 Shocks and Sway Bars and was a little stiff but was also a fun ride. If I was going away for a long trip or a weekend I would ussually take the C5. If I were going for an afternoon cruise or a spin to unwind it would be the 81. But all things are subjective.
Thanks, Joe..

...car is a work of art. I wouldn't have the patience to create a car of this magnitude. Saw it at Carlisle. Absolutely incredible.

For personal reasons. Absolutely nothing to do with the car. The car is in the same condition as when I finished it. I've only put 1400 miles on it since completion and it runs perfectly and is a blast to drive and gets attention everywhere I go.
Thanks
