I have a friend here in Mass. that has an '81 2 tone blue, 4 speed car with just 15k miles on it. He stores it in the Winter, and someone else I know is also interested in looking at it next Spring. If he does not buy it and you haven't found anything, I'll let you know.

1981 2 tone corvette rare optioned collector car. Original paint. Car has 35k original miles, original matching numbers 350cid, with rare 4 speed. Only 5,757 4 speed cars were made and the last year for 4 speeds until 1984. There were only 5,352 two tone cars made among 4 different color combination. Mirrored Glass T-tops. Gymkhana suspension-only 7,803 cars optioned. Rare original cloth interior. A/C blows cold. I have the original build sheet, Shop manual, sales brochures, owners manual, car cover. This is the last year of the carbureted corvette. This car is a real head turner. Over $23000 invested. I have many more pictures.

Hi Jim, thanks for the note. I remember calling the owner last year. He had said he had bought it for his son.........but then he got in the family way and the car was no good to him anymore....so the car just sat.

For such low miles I expected it to be in better shape. T-top cracked, scratches on console etc. I'm a bit wary of this one.

Thanks for the note on this car too. I know I'm being picky when looking for an older well preserved vehicle....but honestly out of all the two-toned combos this is the one I dislike the most.

unless you plan on paying alot extra for the musium quality corvette you are after, u might have to raise your mileage requirements some. these cars are 30 years old now and i would think anything under 50,000 miles is low miles. my 71 454 has 72,000 miles on it and it spent most of the last 20 years in storage. good luck on your hunt. spring will be here before u know it.

There's more low mile cars out there them you think. It just takes time to find them. I looked for two years and found a 1980 with 3900 orginal mile car that was only 90 miles from me.

That's funny--I almost pulled the trigger on this very same color combo car out of California last month--and I really like the colors! But my Corvette was Buckskin (think an ugly tan color) with a chocolate brown interior and I still miss it.

Hi Mike, I thought you were going to send me pics of your car? This looks to be a nice car on e-bay. Do you think the numbers on the odometer look funny? I'm not saying there was any tampering, the just don't look like the 80-82 numbers to me.
