All of you experts out there, what's your opionion on this car? I think it can be bought for mid 20's, and it seems to have been 'over restored', powder coated frame, etc, but seems very nice to the untrained eye.

Well it looks like a nice, clean, restored car. However, a base motor paired with an automatic isn't exactly a screamer. It also appears to be a non-original motor. His pad number listed does not match the VIN listed.

Did you check out the 68 Convertible Vettelake is selling a couple of threads down? Similar and well priced.

Except for the air on the Ebay car, the value on Vettelakes car seems to be much more competitive. I had a safari yellow/ tobacco 68 vert. Loved the tobacco interior.

That car brings back many memories. My father had a 68'
BB (427/390) roadster in the same color that he purchased
new in Columbus, Ohio. Not very often you see one in the
bronze color scheme.

Hi S,
I think the car looks quite nice in the pictures. Some people would not be interested in it because it's an automatic while others would want it because it's an automatic.
For some people 'over-restored' is a good thing... me included. I like a VERY original car that's in too nice a condition.
I was speaking to someone at Carlisle who knows a thing or two about 68-72 cars and he feels convertible, auto, a/c cars, are going to become more sought after as the years go by.
I think I'd want to know that the car has the many 68 only parts that make 68s special.
Regards,
Alan

That is a great color combo. The one on ebay has lots of options and looks pretty good from the pics. The 68 for sale here on the forum, although is not as highly optioned, also looks good from the pics and could be a great deal.

Hi
auto, a/c cars, are going to become more sought after as the years go by.
Interesting sought.
I find that high power optioned cars seem to have less of the comfort options, like PB, PW, AC , tele steering etc.
This comfort options are left mainly to the base engined auto cars.
So, finally, all early sharks will be sought after, the high power cars because of this and the base cars because of their options.
And that's how it should be.

nice car, big money. I would be more inclined to buy the 71 that just got posted here at the price drop number of $13. Spend what will likely be $5k on stuff that needs to be done and for $18 you've got alot of fun in the garage.
