Default For Sale: 1975 Coupe L48 Automatic

I'm posting this for my father since he is not on the internet as much as I am. Gotta help the P's when I can. I'll tell you as much as I can about the car. This is what I was given for information.
1975 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, Auto, L48 165hp, PW, A/C, AM/FM, Silver ext, Silver leather int, 51,600 miles, new in 1995 (Silver paint, SS brake lines, carpet, and Goodyear tires), the car has seen more storage than highways, selling due to lack of use, the front bumper has one crack during this winter due to the constant temperature fluctuations in Illinois, we are willing to repair before sale, but are considering offers ?as is?, asking $11,750 repaired or $11,000 ?as is? OBO, if interested please contact Jim at jboggs1@geneseo.net or call (309) 522-5884. Pictures are available upon request. Thanks.

The car really has had a sheltered life. They are looking to sell and upgrade to a newer model (C5??). The price is negotiable and all offers will be considered. Feel free
to contact me if you don't get a timely response from my dad. My email is vette92@grics.net.

I would like to get some opinions on this car. My dad would really like to sell the car. Is the price fair?? Not a popular year for a Vette?? I'm going to start listing the car in some other area's besides the Forum. Tell me what you think. You're not going to hurt my feelings. My dads feelings........... that's another story. Thanks guys.

Mike, I am certainly not an expert but I recently bought a 75 coupe. I did a lot of looking before buying mine and from what I have seen that seems a good deal for a car like you describe. Fact is, I wish I had seen this ad before buying mine.

OK, here goes. Last summer, I saw a 76 coupe at a local Ford (sorry for the bad language) Dealership that was in pretty good shape and mostly original. Had been repainted and not the best paint job, but looked decent. Ran good mechanically and had original engine (L-48) with 67,000 miles. They had a price tag of $7598.00 on it. It sat around for a couple of weeks and later someone bought it. Asked one of the salesman (friend of mine) what they got for it and he said only $6100.

I think your $11,000 may be a little high, but if your not in a hurry to sell, I say go for it. IMHO, the good thing is that all C3's are only going to go up in value just because they're C3's. They're are a distinctly different kinda of sports car.

Mike,
$11K seems awfully high for a 75. I don't decide what is popular with the public, but 75 & 76 seem to be the least desirable of the C3's. For 11K, you can buy an early C3 in central PA with a small block in decent condition, have 2-3 times the desirability factor. I think anything over $7K for a super sweet C3 that year is over priced considering what you can get for just a tad bit more. But then again, I am a thrifity individual who does my own work, and buys parts at my price, or won't buy. So, good luck trying to sell at that price.
I only paid $3,500 for my 73 two years ago, that needed tires, exhaust, brakes, paint and weather striping. I will have $10K in the car when done, including the purchase price, but the car will be sweeet and new. Andddd, so much higher on the desirabilty scale because of the whipped up, spoilered tail end. 73's seem to fetch 10-13K. I figure mine will be worth around $11.5. Since it sports 3 deuces on a small block and has side pipes.
So, theres my reponse to opinions on your asking price.
