Frame off restored, #'s matching drive train - 327/4spd, 49,xxx original miles. 400 miles on the rebuilt drive train & frame off, Paint just finished 6/15/08. Custom built interior with audio/video, Corbeau Seats, all new interior carpet, door panels, and trim. 95% new and complete. only items left to do are; finalize Vintage A/C installation-components are installed, lines need to be cut, crimped, and system charged, new soft top since light blue doesn't go well with a custom Red w/ blue pearl. The top is fine, just the wrong color. This is a one off design that is fun to drive and draws alot of attention.
I'm only selling, or trading, to have something with a back seat for my sons.

Reason: read new selling rules
Not trying to sound negative but the fact is when you invest that kind of money you have to know your going to keep the car or lose a lot of money, especially when it is not done. When you build a custom, you are building it to your personal tastes and someone else might not want to spend a lot of money to change it to their personal tastes. For the loss you will probably take, you might be better off keeping it until your kids are older and try to get them interested in the hobby with you, and for now just look for another cheaper car that they can enjoy with you. Good luck in whatever way you decide to go.
good point, but I've always personalized every project, and usually negotiated a trade that was fair to both parties.... I'm not looking for top dollar, just a fair price for a unique vette....
thanks for your input... if I didn't owe the old lady some cash to pay back our savings then I would keep it and build something else with the boys...
Very nice job. You could get someone looking for a "Chip foose" hot rod type of vette willing to pay you what you want. I luv the wheels and offset with flares. Very nice job. Looks great. Bump
Sell the left over parts and pay ur lady back and keep the vette. Heck, paint some houses, mow some lawns keep the vette!
believe me I've contemplated divorce to keep it, but then I'd lose 1/2 of alot more than the vette!!!
Thanks for the complements.... It's nice to hear my style is appreciated!!!
maybe the old lady will come around and forget about the money!!!! wishful thinking....

Is your wife familiar with the market, i.e. the enormous loss usually taken with customs? Maybe if you explain to her that it is likely that you would get a small fraction on the dollar spent, she would not be so adamant about selling the car to recover this money.
Divorces are no fun, but half of less money is still less money!
As a previous poster said, you would probably be way better off keeping the car and raising other money elsewhere. Customs, especially one as extensive as this, are for keeping, not re-sale.
I agree.... I am in sales, but you know the hardest sell is to your old lady!!!!!
I've done well with trades on custom cars in the past, so it weakens my case when I plead it to her, but I haven't given up!!!!!
