I'm about ready to make a move on this week, and would like any opinions. It's a 3 owner car, with the current being 2 yrs, and previous being 25 yrs. Car is in TX, orig from OK. 128k miles with engine rebuilt 2 yrs ago, #s match, power steering, brakes, tilt wheel, auto trans, a/c..he says it needs a charge, clock and radio not working. One repaint. Front suspension has been redone.
Would need more pictures to provide much of an opinion, door edges, trim tag, motor stampings. The butt connectors at the alternator are not a good sign.
These are the pics the owner sent me which are only a few more. He says it has an updated ignition and the smog pump removed. He's has his price down to $21500.
Those picture links don't work. Sounds like a steep price for a small-block coupe automatic. A/C is almost never "just a charge". Any documentation?
"Updated ignition" probably just means an HEI distributor or conversion, doesn't really add to value of car, might hurt. Does help drivability, though.
I suggest trying to find a local forum member or NCRS member to look at the car if you can't yourself.
Just this week there were a couple of threads about a beautiful-appearing '69 coupe that turned out to be a put-together car. It's currently for sale on the forum for much less than the $21k cost of this one.
