Hey guys...
I'm in the market to find a 1968 to 1972 coupe.
Few details of what I'm looking for:
- Prefer 70 to 72 ... I like the fender flares.
- Auto... This should keep me in my price range since Manuals are a little more expensive/desireable.
- Prefer #'s matching... don't let that stop you from recommending a good car.
- CLEAN Underbody - Very little to no Rust on frame/B-Cage. <---most important! No rust buckets!
- V8-350 is fine...
- Decent interior and Paint
My range is for cars with asking prices 15k to low/mid20's. I know I will not get a perfect car but for that price range it should be in decent/good shape.
With that range I possibly would be willing to accept a matching BB that might need a "little" TLC... interior/paint/etc...
Thanks for your help...

Will let my 72 matching #LS5, TH400 Trans Red/Red Coupe go for $19k. As you have requested, very clean underbody, little or no rust; decent interior & paint. Odometer shows 86,xxx miles.
With my business taking most of my time, I unfortunately do not have the time for 2 Vettes.
Frame up restoration to driver quality- engine, trans and rear rebuilt by previous owner. Looks & runs great, sounds awesome. Engine starts right up w no smoke. Trans shifts very smoothly.
Very good Mille Miglia red paint (code #973) and standard red vinyl interior (trim #407). Deluxe door panels were added. They look great.
So why is this car $19k instead of $25k plus? Missing are: build sheet, Protecto Plate, A.I.R. pump & smog equipment, original #7042216 QJet Carb, wiper door (hood extended by previous owner to look like '73, and it looks super), original jack, rear window defroster, alarm system, original steering wheel, original front clip (altho aftermarket currently installed looks terrific). Windshield wipers & interior lites not working.
Picture in avatar. PM me or reply if you want more pics plus a list of new parts, RPO options on the car, and various casting dates.
Two more things:
1. I like the 72's because it's the first year where the big block is designated in the VIN.
2. Mike Yager, of Mid America Motorworks, in Vette Magazine, Jan 08, named the 70-72 Corvette as one of the "top buys for enthusiasts just entering the Corvette hobby.....They all provide a sound investment for a reasonable price.
With the time that I don't have and about $1-2k additional, this car will absolutely kick a$$. As it is now, it's a blast to drive.
