FS: 1969 Big Block Convertible
Hi, guys. I've finally decided to sell my vert. Sad to do it, but I don't drive her much anymore, and I've got a kid starting college in the fall. Looking to get $37,500 for it, and that's fairly firm. It's a hell of a car.
1969 427/390 L36 Big Block convertible, 4 speed, monza red with red interior. Only 54K original miles. Drive train is 100% matching #s, & most of the parts under the hood are original/matching #s (including that waaaay hard to find numbers carb for the 427 that rebuilders are asking $1200 plus for now). Interior is in great condition. Runs like a real champ (was tuned a while back by the famous Lars & just hums).
Known issues: The usual sort of minor paint flaws (some chipping, minor crazing). Top is in excellent condition, but has a small place in one corner of the back window where the window has separated from the vinyl--probably just needs some glue). Was originally an A/C car (rare for a '69 vert), but most of the A/C system was removed by a previous owner--it could be restored, since nothing was actually altered, just the compressor, condenser, etc. were unbolted and removed. The smog pump is gone (almost all of them are). That's about all I can think of. Oh, I don't think the lighter works
Still got the original radio, which works, and the original spare tire, which would be a hell of a hazard to actually put on the road after 39 years!

Wow that appears to be a very nice and highly desirable car. You sure you want to let it go? I see some regret down the line.

Naw, wouldn't do that, but I may well buy a beater F body that I could trick out a bit without having to worry about originality. That should leave a few bucks left over to pay the kid's tuition.

It isn't often that you see a car in this price range that would be called a good value. I think this is one of them.
The biggest flaw that I can see is a partially peeling label on the air cleaner. Stunning car Good luck n the sale. This one shouldn't last too long though you'll probably have to go to eBay to move it quickly.

You just got your L46? Man, that's a great feeling isn't it? When I first got my car, I just sat in the garage in the driver's seat for like two hours, soaking in the cool. I think that's actually a major part of the reason I'm ready to sell--I've lost that new toy feeling & need to get another new toy. There's a guy with an Olds Cutlass vert for sale here for $8K has got me thinking about how bitchin' it is to have a back seat. . . .

From another Texan (D-FW area)...you're gonna regret it. That kid who is going to college will look back one day and wish he had it and you will, too.
I call that Resale Red. Any red Corvette seems to sell faster than other colors.
I have a friend in Houston who has a beautiful '70 442 convertible and a '70 LS-5 convertible, Top Flight. See, having two cars is the way to go.

1970 LS-5 convertible (not 'Vert')
1966 Impala SS396 convertible

Quick bump back to the top, since I just verified that the tranny is indeed original, as is the rest of the drive train. If anyone wants more pics, email me at grendel2121@yahoo.com and I'll send 'em along.
