Default 1981 4 SP on Craigslist

Saw this today. Looks like a decent buy.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/car/649452664.html

Located about 30 minutes from me. If someone would like me to have a look, I'd be happy to.

Usual disclaimer. I know nothing about this car and have no knowledge of nor association with the owner. Just always liked 81 4 speeds.

I saw that ad last night and am surprised it did not sell over the weekend. Maybe there are some undisclosed issues.

That's a little scarey. Maybe it sounds better than it is, or maybe the economy is worse than we think.

I thought this was a very good price for the car at first glance.

I am going to call the guy now but I would like it if you could go and look at it. It is exactly what I am looking for and the price is right. Let me call hime and I will PM you if it all goes well.

81 is not my favorite but for that price if it is even close to description I would buy it for a cruiser.

never mind but thank you. The car needs a boat load of work and there is mad overspray on the headlights indicating a poor paint job. I just don't think the car is worth 5500 IMO

Oh, but this one is really special as it states it has the very rare (so rare that I have never heard of it before) L-81 engine ! Maybe it is only half the engine the L-82 is??

The 81s do have L81 engines. All of them do so it isn't rare at all. There were no engine choices in 81. The L81 is essentially an L48.

I assume you've seen this one? One year older than what you want though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1980-...QQcmdZViewItem

Indeed you are correct. I never knew they gave the engine a code in 81, but the fine print in the Little Black Book says just what you pointed out.

That thing is now on Ebay. No title, says bill of sale only. Wonder if the title was branded salvage.

Check out the great interior
