looking to get a corvette for the wife and she likes the 1979s the best, must be a manual trans, prefer any color except red, can be stock or modified but should be good to high driver quality. I will of course try to steal it from you on price but am also realistic and know that I'm not gonna find a perfect restoration or documented 0 mile car for $5.00 so let me see what you have
not against buying from a dealer but I would prefer to give my money to a fellow forum member for now, that being said the pro team yellow car would be perfect if I didn't think that they were asking for twice its value (I dont think that i'm that far off on price but please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong so I can adjust my expectations
the pro team yellow one is gorgeous to be sure low miles and code 52 yellow is an excellent shade for the shark lines ( i owned a 1977 code 52) but ridiculous in asking price!! the blue one from american sportscar center is a great shade too, a friend of mine owned this exact car that he bought new in 1979--just a great color! the one conte's has is very reasonably priced i have known about joe conte and his business for a number of years there is no finer dealer anywhere in the states! but, that shifter....ugh!! still for the price, a small annoyance! i remember a post a while back from a guy (forum member) in new york with a 1979 manual shifter for sale for around 10K i think it's still listed on vettehound, so maybe check that one out! whatever you decide, 1979 is a very refined cruiser and a good corvette for the money.

here is 3 of them for sale, one for 4.45 that needs a bit of work, one for 11 and the other hasnt a price listed. By the way, this is a great mag to keep your eye on,some real deals pass thru here. http://www.auto-rv.com/results.aspx?...ckval=corvette
looks like the white one is the only 4sp and thats a little more involved of a project then I want (I seem to suffer from this disorder of "whileimatititis". since I have to put a new nose on it I might as well pull the engine "while i'm at it", since the engines out I might as well clean up the bay "while i'm at it" , since the bay is all cleaned up I might as well make the tranny all purdy too "while i'm at it" , since I'm gonna pull the tranny I might as well clean up the whole frame "while i'm at it" , the best way to do that would be to pull the body "while i'm at it" since the body is off I wonder how much more work it would be to fit a ls-1-3-5-7-x-ect "while i'm at it" , this engine just wouldn't be done justice without a 6sp "while i'm at it" ect.ect.ect.ect.ect)
This'll make her happy, and help out a forum member too!
Best of luck
thanks wuttin,
that's the one i was referring to! dave's black 1979 looks to be in very original condition and a very reasonable price for it! if i was ready, it would be in my garage but, not ready to pull the trigger just yet.
so, there you go mjn76!! send dave a pm and see what you can work out!! and dave, best of luck!! ...............chris
