F/S 1968 427 390HP auto coupe.TANK STICKER, matching#'s .NICE
Hello folks, I JUST ADDED SOME MORE PICS
I am listing this car on the forum before I put it on ebay next week to see if any of you are interested first.
As I own a restoration shop, my description will be pretty accurate on this,so please SERIOUS inquiries only.
1968 427 390HP auto coupe.
Has had a frame on restoration.
Motor is Matching #correct to this car and runs great.(Appears to have been rebuilt at some point and has no noises ,smoke or apparent issues)
Trans shifts great and rear axle is fine as well
Odometer shows 46k but I cant confirm if it is actual
car has had one repaint of the original 983 green. Paint looks nice.
All body panels are original and show no appearance of any accidents.Body gaps are factory correct with no issue
Weatherstrip is all new.
Exhaust is brand new.
Tires are almost new.
I took a few pics but it started to rain(car looks even better in person)
Interior is saddle (correct to car)and is pretty much all new and very very nice.Gauges work fine.
CAR HAS VERY RARE SHOULDER BELT OPTION
Also pwer brakes,steering.
Most of the chrome is new including emlems, bumpers etc.
Frame is in excellent unrestored condition with no issues.
Brakes are all new.suspension feels great. Car has a new fiberglass rear spring but original will be included with car.
Car drives great down the road with no issues.
Headlights and wiper door work nice.(headlights have new canisters as well as hose kit.
Wiper motor doent work(havent looked into it yet)
Under hood is mostly original including radiator.Correct intake, carb, manifolds etc.Valve covers, ignition shield, air cleaner appear original.
Way too many small details to list here.
OVERALL A VERY NICE UNMOLESTED CAR THAT YOU CAN GET INTO AND DRIVE.
ASKING 30k
Wouldnt take much to bring this to NCRS level.
If you want to see it feel free to do so .It will speak for itself.
I was offered this car and bought it (who wouldnt?) but already owning 3 68's, I have no use for it so I am selling.

Thanks, Its a clean original car with a driver quality paint job. I would love to keep it but my finances and too many projects tell me different so it has to go. It will make a nice car for someone.

Very nice Corvette. I found another 70 LT-1 I am restoring or I would look at your car. For what you are asking there is no way you could find a nice 68 for less than 20,000 to 25,000. When you add the cost of the restoration anyone would would be thousands ahead & have a very nice car to drive this summer. Good luck with the sale.
PS Thanks for including the price. Seems like there are a lot of what's it worth adds.

VIN on the 68 for sale?
Very nice car at a great asking price. Could you PM me with a VIN or even a partial of which number it was? I'm trying to gather some information on the Saddle interiors on a 68. Especially since you have the early style door panels.
Thanks,
Ryan

In havent heard from the guy who bought it on ebay yet. (apparently a loser in more ways than one, as I had put a very modest reserve on the car hoping it would go up anyway.)
Here goes, first 24k takes it before I relist it on ebay again. I just cant see how someone can do better than that on a correct 427 car in nice shape. I got it for a good price and someone else will get a good deal as well.

That's a screamin' deal I'm out of room, but I've got a friend looking for a mid year. Maybe I can talk him into a nice 68 instead.

For this kind of money, see what else you can get for a matching # big block car that looks good, most wear items have been replaced and you can get in and drive.

That is a GREAT price. Someone is going to get a super deal. If the car was a 4 speed I would have already bought it. Good luck with the sale.
