Default WTB: 68-73 vet in Virginia or close

Hi, this is my first post here. seems to be a really great informative site!!

I'm looking for a nice 68-73, covertible and 4 spd preferred (but I'm open to other models of the same era). I want a nice clean mostly original car, but matching #s not necessary. I want a stock or mild 350. I DO want the car to have really nice paint and super clean nice interior. Not looking for a show machine necessarily just a really nice driver.

my budget is 15K but I may pay as much as 20K for the right car. Please post on this thread if you have one to sell or know about one. Thanks!!!!

I've got a 69 for sale, but price is $22,000. Take a look in this forum under my handle, Harrykaw. Let me know if interested.

It's a 1973 Convertible; 1 of 4,943 convertibles built in 1973. Purchased in May of 2004 from the original owner. Received all the original factory and dealership paperwork when car was bought. The car is in excellent shape and has been garage kept. It has the original factory white paint on the car and the interior is in great shape. The interior is (oxblood) red with a white convertible top. It has never been wrecked and has 137,037 miles on it but the engine (350-L-48) and transmission (Auto) were rebuilt 13,000 miles ago. No Rust anywhere on the car. I try and drive it once a week, the car drives and rides great.

I have all the receipts for everything that has ever been done to the car. The tank sticker is still attached to the top of the gas tank. I have taken it to a number of local car shows and it has done well.

Just a few of the items that have been replaced on the car since May 2004:

-New Tires
-New Belts and Hoses
-New Front Bumper and Paint
-New Points, Plugs and Wires
-New U-Joints
-New Starter
-New Battery
-New Fuel Pump
-New Brakes
-New Carpet

I have reduced my asking price to $21,800 (NADA is $23,518)

Photo's are on this site, check post on 06-30-07 by EddiePear for pics.

I'm very motivated to sell the car, Serious inquires only please, SORRY, NO DEALERS.

Thanks,

Eddie

Default 70 Vert

Hi,

I have a 70-350/350 4 speed. Interior is as new. Paint is almost perfect. Recently painted with BC/CC. Classic White with black interior as orginal. Engine, trans and rear matching numbers. This car is beautiful. Brakes are brand new throughout including O ring calipers and new soft lines. Brake booster has been rebuilt as has the original master cylinder. Too many new and rebuilt parts to list.

I am asking as close as I can get to $30k. I am in Damascus, MD

I realize that this is way over budget, but I thought I would throw it out there. Also has P/S, P/B, P/W, and Tilt wheel.

I have a very few items to put back on the car. Everything works except for the wiper door only because I have not fully reconnected everything.

Feel free to call me at 301-440-0838 with questions. Even if you are not interested in mine I will be happy to discuss the pitfalls of a C3 and what to look for. They are great cars but unless someone has really gone through to make sure everything works it can become a quagmire.

You may even want to have a fellow forum member go out to look at the vette you ar einterested in when you find the C3 of your dreams.

Good Luck in your search!

Andy,
I think(and most may agree) that for your budget, a 72 or 73 is a better fit. Prices for the 68-70's are a bit higher due to the unrestricted HP GM was putting out at the time(muscle car era).
A nice 72 or 73 driver for $15k is a sure hit! As you can see above the earlier years are higher.
Oh,(a shameless plug of course) I'd part with mine for $25k, '69 350/300 coupe, #'s match, all original except new interior and non original paint.

Thanks for the input, I'm realizing 15K is a little hopefull, I've seen a few that would suit but they are way too far away or too rough. I'm checking on a few that are closer to 20K... we will see if they pan out. Right now I have 4 - 5 cars, I'm VERY interested in!! all but one is on this forum!!

One thing is for sure, I'm gonna get a early C3 !!!!
