Default 1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible Factory 427 with A.C. and 4spd!

1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible.

This special Corvette Stingray was one of the last 69’s and last 427 Big Block Corvettes ever built!!!! She was built on the 3rd to the last day of 1969 Production! It was Dec 29th 1969 and the last 69 was built on the 31st! She is Vin # 194679S738569 out of a possible 38762 making this car under one of the last 200 (69) model Stingrays ever built. She is one of the last Big Block 427’s ever built. Most of us know that in 2006 Chevy introduced the new LS-7 427 for the Z06, but it is small block 427!

She was assembled with the following regular production options:

427 Turbo Jet 390 Horse Hydraulic Lifter Big Block Engine.

Original Factory Air Conditioning. The combination of Factory A.C. and a Big Block Engine was super rare!

Original #'s matching M-20 4spd Manual Transmission Equipped Corvette.

Speed Warning Minder

Original Power Steering

Original Head Rests

Original Fathom Green Exterior

Mostly Original Black Interior

Original Black Rag Top

AM/FM Corvette Cassette Deck

She retains her:

Original Door Panels

Original Dash Board

Original Instruments

Original Seat Belts, amongst a lot more.

NOT ORIGINAL MOTOR:

SUPER FRESH Corvette 427 Big Block Engine built to 427 cubic inches with a Vintage Solid Forged Steel 6223 427 Crank, and correct externally balanced 427 Flywheel and 427 Harmonic Balancer. She is packed with Oversized Tapered Pushrods, Double Tooth Timing Chain, and 4 Bolt Mains. She is a 72 casting 3999289 Corvette Big Block Dated May 29 of 71 built to a solid 427 cubic inches.

The Fresh Short Block was recently mated to a set of Ported and Polished 1970 cast 3964290 Oval Port Corvette Heads and Intake. She was just treated to a Complete Gasket Seal Set. Next she was coated in Zinc, then Primed White and Painted with 3 coats of Chevy Orange before Installation. ( Fresh 427 Engine was Installed on May 1st, 2007) The engine bay was also treated to a degrease and fresh coat of Correct Underhood Black Paint. The Flywheel was resurfaced and a Brand new clutch kit was installed including Clutch, Throw-out bearing, and Pinion Gear Seal, etc... She has a New Starter, New Harmonic Balancer, New Mallory Distributor, Cap, and Rotor. She has New Spark Plugs and Wires. Fresh Vintage 1969 Chevy Quadra Jet Carburetor Professionally Rebuilt and Flow Tested. New Chrome Air-Cleaner Lid and Base, New Air Cleaner, Oil Filter Fresh Oil, and Radiator Fluid. Car has less than one tank of gas on fresh 427 and clutch etc...

Body and Paint are very nice on this car. I would say a solid 7.5 out of 10 There are a couple of rockchips and the usual scratches and hairline cracks in the paint, usual flaws of a C-3 Corvette. All in all it is very nice and NOT even considered a 10 footer. I would not even say it is a 5 footer!!! An air-brush specialist, pin-striper and or pro-detailer could inexpensively touch up the imperfections and it would be amazing! Regardless, you would be proud to drive and enjoy this corvette and you wouldn’t be ashamed of the paint at all. The paint is very glossy and deep. It is the correct shade of 983 Fathom Green. The body appears to be pretty straight. I was told it looks all original by a specialist. The frame is very straight.

The Chrome on the car is excellent. Car has its original 8inch Rally Rims with center caps and rings.

The Brakes and Tires are all in very good condition. The pads are thick, and the tread on the tires is all good. The car stops quickly with plenty of pedal left.

The car has a High Performance Fiberglass Mono-leaf Rear Spring on her. She handles like a Roller Coaster on Rails. It is a much better set up than the heavy big block rear spring that it replaced. The correct Big Block Rear Sway Bar is still installed. Shocks are nice. Car drives extremely straight and tracks very well.

The Black Rag Top appears to be original to the car. The original door panels, carpet, dash board are all nice and should clean up well. The original 427-390 horse console tag is still installed, a little weathered, but obviously original.

The instruments are crystal clear. The speedometer and tachometer both function well. The car shows 90,XXX miles and counting, believed to be correct. All gauges work but the clock and oil pressure gauge. The fiber optics even work, but some of the bulbs are out.

This is a nice Corvette for the Driving Enthusiast! It is original enough that it can still be restored back to correct #’s matching condition, and taken to Top Flight Status through the NCRS. I actually know where the correct dated restoration block is available from a reputable source that will stand behind his merchandise. He wants 2500 dollars for the correct vintage block guaranteed re-buildable and stamped with assembly and vehicle identification derivatives. I know another guy with the same restoration block and one sleeve for 1100.00

She could be used as a driver and “Sunday” Show Car as is…. a Classic Mostly Stock Looking Stingray with an original looking HIGH PERFORMANCE HOT ROD Corvette 427 Engine that is built better than the original 427 it replaced!! You could also improve upon my performance mods and continue to Resto ROD this bad boy… Sky is the limit with this very nice Corvette Stingray.

69 Big Block Stingray’s are getting harder to find, and more expensive every day!

They made less Chrome Bumper 1968-1972 Corvette Stingray Roadsters than the VERY EXPENSIVE and Highly Coveted 1963-1967 Sting Ray Roadsters. The numbers are 72,418 (63-67 Sting Ray Roadsters) and only 55,540 (1968 to 1972 Stingray Roadsters) These rare cars are bound to go through the roof one day! If they don’t, any way you look at it… there will still always be less 68-72 Roadsters than 63-67’s!!!

It is SUPER RARE to have the luxury of a Factory Big Block Corvette equipped from the factory with Air Conditioning. I imagine you guys in the warmer states will really want to take advantage of this… and anyone knows for investment potential these two options combined make for a unique Stingray!

Please try Rich’s Classic Transport for your Shipping Needs…. I have used them twice in the past with great results… Rich knows where I live… so he can quote you a price accordingly. J

…Of course, I wouldn’t hesitate to drive this car cross country! The engine and clutch are fresh! She runs great!

45,000.00 or best reasonable offer, Manual Transmission Corvette Trades considered in any direction!

I fixed the headlamp vacuum leak. Now the headlamps aren't stuck in the up position. It was a broken over-ride valve. Pretty easy fix!

FWIW: my notes show December 19th was the last day of '69 production and the plant was closed for the rest of the year. What's the time/build date on your car?

Hello,

This car was built Dec 29th 1969, and the last car rolled of the line on Dec 31st 1969! This information is taken from the NCRS Birthday Calendar Book.

Hope this helps!
