according to the site there were 2 made - 1 was sold and this one was kept and used in rush hour 2. the guy sounded skeptical about the guy that called in and placed a deposit for 6 cars in 1 shot - so i left my name and number. if this car opens up i may just jump on it - is my dream car - worth a flight to IL to check it out - at least it is for me.
plus i can keep the plate i have on my black 03 - 1ZUGOBLK (once you go black)

Buy the red one or any other color and paint it black like they did. There was officially ZERO black Corvettes produced in 1972. Good luck with the paint. Black is a major headache on C3's. Probably the reason it left the line from 1970 to 1977 except for a very few special orders.

FWIW-
Corvettes and Classics in Houston, Texas had what they were calling the Rush Hour vette for sale about five or so years ago. I looked at it, but did not want an automatic. Don't remember cost, but it was in nice condition.

Unless Jesus sat in it himself that car isn't worth that kinda cash.
You can do alot better than that for that kinda money.

This one has been on the market for at least a year from what I can recall. My guess is the dealer is trying to make you think you've lost it & when he calls back with the "good news" you'll be inclined to pay full asking price. I think it's probably worth less than 1/2 of what they're asking...who cares if its a movie car.

I was the high bidder on the car when it was on ebay a few years back, I was $500 short on the reserve, the owner emailed me and offered it to me for the extra $500 but I found an Lt-1 the next day after the auction and passed on it. The owner was in Florida at the time of the auction, dont no if he ever sold it I never saw it on Ebay again. By the way he was asking $22,000 2 years ago.
