1971 LT-1 automatic The car looks like it's in really good shape. Guy wants $15,000. I'll go check it out tomorrow.

No LT-1 automatics; they were all 4 speed cars. Are you saying this car has a GenIII engine?

He's talking about the LT1 (no dash), which was used in '92-'96 Corvettes, as well as Camaros and Caprices of the same era. The LT1 was named after the LT-1 of '70-'72.

So what do we have here? A genuine LT-1 with the 4 speed pulled and an auto trans bolted up, or an LT1 swap with auto?

Or, more likely, a base motor car with automatic being advertised as an LT-1 by someone who doesn't have clue what an LT-1 is, he just heard that was the high performance motor.

I have to check it out. I was told of this car and had seen it from a distance. I was told it was an LT-1 but was auto. Can't confirm that until I see it up close. I'll take pix.
