I have been looking for a good 69-72 bumper car driver, but those are getting harder and harder to find for the money I can spend.
I found a 75 local the other day with a stick which is a must in my opinion. It is Flame Orange which is the original color but it was just repainted and looks excellent. It has the dark tan interior and it looks to have all the power options and luggage rack. New exhaust, tires, brakes. It also is a numbers matching engine.
Knowing what I told you which I know is not much, what would you expect to pay for this Vette? Is there anything special on a 75 that I should be looking for that differs much from the 69-72's that I have been looking at previously?
I don't really know what it would be worth, but according to http://www.vettefinders.com/ the average price for a 75 coupe is $9,000 and they have one listing for $12,900. Joe

Numbers match, but with these upgrades: Crane H-268-2 cam, Dart IE165 heads, 2 1/2" manifolds
I bought my 75 5 years ago with 68K original miles, all original in very decent shape (clutch was frozen, replaced it for not too much), interior was perfect, but had an oil leak. I paid $6500. It was a 4 speed L-82 coupe. Bumpers were all in great shape (cracked now though), and it also needed 4 new tires, but besides that the car was very solid.
I did just what you are contemplating. I was looking for a '69 BB and found a '76 flame orange L-82. Bought the '76 15 years ago and still own it. Finally did buy my '69 about 3 years ago. The '76 is more refined than the '69, but the '69 is a real brute. I used to own a '75 base motor coupe. Look for rust. Mechanical things are easy to fix, rust is not. The windshield frame is prone to rust out, also check the frame real close. Because the '75 is a low horsepower car, many used them for daily drivers in the winter and some are rusted real bad. I would say a numbers matching real nice coupe is worth about 10k. A not so nice car or not # matching would be worth no more than 7k. They made alot of '75 coupes so get it as cheap as possible as they will never be real collectible imho.
As of right now I would't pay much over $6000 for it as the market is not real strong for it. They can be and are nice cars. I had a 76 that I put over $12k in and needless to say when I sold It I took a beating. I don't know about the 75, but my 76 had metal floor pans that I had to repair. The carpet will cover it up nicely so check out the pans good if they are metal. Good luck
I recently bought a nice 80 4 speed w/AC for $7k.Probably paid a bit too much, but I wanted the 4 speed.
I still had to put new brakes on it and do a bit of minor interior work. 4 speed cars are a little harder to find at a reasonable price, but the're out there is you keep your eyes open and wait for the right car.
He is asking 13,500 which I know is way too much in my opinion. He states that it only has 48,000 original miles but if that is not documented then one would never know.
I think I have already moved on unless he wants to go way down on his price which I am sure he won't.
I am still holding out for a bumper car....maybe I will get lucky and one will come around that I can afford.
Thanks for all the comments, that is why I love this place.

That is a great deal for a 80 4 speed...I wish i can find one for that price....
I think 13,500 is a pretty good deal. The 1975 is a great year I think. It is the last year with the real corvette letters across the back. The 76 and 77 have the plastic glue on looking piece. The 75 also has the HEI dist. first year and a betal bezel, not plastic like later years. Other reasons this one maybe good is they made 33 some thousands coupes (kinda a high number but not in the 40's and 50's thousands of later years) but of those made there were less than 1050 of those that were sticks making that a RARE RARE car. Furthermore, if its original and in good shape with lots of options make it a cooler car. These cars are everywhere with automatics for less sometimes a stick, but parts add up. Also to reply to the floor pan post 75 was the last year for fiberglass floor pans. (Ive heard 76 had half and half, some had fiber some metal, can someone confirm? But i know 75's have fiber). The only thing that is bad about the 75 is the cats, just tell your exhaust shop its a 74 and you are good to go. Thats my 2 cents. Good luck on your search.
Kevin <>< (BTW I might be biased, I have a 75 coupe )
