Wondering if anyone could help give me a realistic value on a 1973 L48 convertible. 4 speed, over 100k mileage, engine is original, new convertible top, new interior, brakes recently overhauled, no rust on birdcage, under radiator or behind tires, replaced heater core and othe minor upgrades.
Paint is a 20 footer (needs new paint job but is passable) and the front nose is damaged. Also new BFG TA's all around.
I have a 73 convertible for sale as well, I have been told a perfect original condition 73 L-48 goes for around $25,000. I have my 73 listed for $22,500. A friend of mine had a 73 convertible with 38,000 miles on it. He has restored it to factory original and trailers it everywhere. He said his car should should go for about $28,000. I guess the main thing is how much you want to pay for a car. It seems the prices of these cars are going up year after year.
I am considering it if I can get the right price. On the other hand I know these cars are appreciating in value and I may hold onto it.
Based upon what I am seeing for values and conditions of other 73 vettes, I don't think I could get what I want for it given what I would have to do to bring it up to snuff (Paint mostly, needs some other work) to get the price I am thinking of.
