Nice comment peckerwood. I didn't notice where he asked for a critique of the cars, maybe you could point it out for me.

Thanks guys for "Sticking up" for the Custom Vettes...This is one of a just a few posts I've ever seen on CF where forum members are actually semi defending a custom car...WOW, I'm pleasantly surprised and happy about that. Hopefully a few of us Custom Vette guys will return to the forum here to stay.

Hey jlelec..."Who are YOU.. to say these are ruined??"

TO EACH HIS OWN...You don't like them..fine..keep it to YOURSELF!! Commenst like those are the reason why the custom guys rarely come here anymore...They have JUST as much if not more to offer this hobby than u know.....

I get beat up all the time for saying that the customs are just as much a part of Corvette heritage as the perfectly restored cars.

We need a custom Vette section so the resto-weenies don't get their panties in a bunch all the time.

Hey Duntov....AGREE!!

Man, if something "for the most part" doesn't dit exactly what people want...you get KILLED.....

Thank God for Zora who helped out a few Custom guys do their thing, both body wise and engineering....If not for the custom guys and YES purists, ZORA was a custom guy, heck we'de still have candles to light our way. Get on with it..

Can the Admin folks here start a CUSTOM section????

The hobby is going in that direction weather u want to admit it or NOT...

Glad I'm forward thinking and NOT stuck in the dark ages...

I think the difference here is that the work is quality work, and often we see customs that the work is subpar at best. Also, many of the customs we see anymore are no longer in their heyday, being 20 or 30 years old and looking it. These two cars look fresh. They look good.

Sure there are a lot out there like the jerk with the comment about them being ruined, but they just don't get it. There is an old saying about "seen one restored red '63 coupe, seen them all".

The truth is, the customs were as much Corvette as the hotrods were.

Customs were around in Corvette history decades before anyone even thought of restoring one.

I agree there should be a custom section. Some custom jobs look nice but I find that after someone has customized their car they think it's worth alot more than it is. They can't understand why someone won't buy it for their price. It's just like the people who replace numbers matching engines and then think they can get the same price for their car.

There is a market for these cars but it does take a particular kind of person to buy one. Original cars almost always sell for more money than customs. From the camaro to chevelle to mustang or corvette, original is what people want now. In the future that may not be the case but as I always say "I don't make the rules, but I can play as good if not better by any rules you have".

Can someone actually post the pictures on a web site that does not have kick-*** in the address. My server won't let me see the pictures?

Thanks.

I love custom vettes! I don't always think I would do the same to mine when I see some of them but think the creativity is awesome. I always prefer to customize my vettes rather than keep them stock. I think if people don't like what they are looking at they should keep it to themselves; don't offend the other users.

Could an "Admin" person please let us know if CF has any plans on devising a "Custom Vettes section" to this Site? Would appreciate..

Andy
