1976 Corvette, 14k miles/docs/1 owner
#4
Ed,
That is one sweeeeeet Vette! I wish I had the cash. I love the color combo and the condition is magnificent! Right now I'm committed to my 71 project. I wish my previous owners had taken better care of my ride. But then again, if they did, I wouldn't have been able to afford it.
Good luck with your sale.

Prior to my purchase this was a 1 owner car that was garaged since new & used for Sunday driving for its first 2 yrs. It was then stored/ parked/garaged/covered for the next 27 yrs. It has never seen rain or snow.
The Frame is perfect with the frame stencils still clearly legible including the date that it was built.... 1/22/76. The body mounts have masking tape and the rubbers are big & fat w/ no deterioration. The windshield frame, floor pans and radiator support are like new.
The paint is excellent with a few minor chips that have been touched up. The bumpers are soft & ripple free. never been wrecked or dinged. Has its oil change/service stickers in the door jamb.
weather strip is all soft and like new
The interior is perfect with mint leather seats and crack free door panels & dash. The original carpet is perfect.
the seat belts are mint & retract perfect
engine runs out perfect and the engine compartment is very clean.
mechanically the car needs absolutley nothing for you to get in and drive across country today.
To put the car back into service the following has been done
4 new SS calipers
new master cylinder
all rubber brake hoses
fuel pump S hoses
all radiator/heater hoses
new heater core
4 new shocks
mufflers
battery w/ cut off switch
E Brake adjusted & holds the car
4 new white letter Eagle GT 2's.......225x70, the center caps & trim rings are perfect originals, never been curbed out. Spare is dry rotted.
Tune up, cooling system flush and valve cover gaskets
nothing is misssing on this car, has its T top bags and hold down straps, tire tub/jack/spare/lock and all ignition shielding
all glass is like new.
everything works, all little gages, speedo, tach, CLOCK, door locks and alarm, door ajar lite, etc
headlites pop up and down just like they should.
all safety items work, will pass any safety/smog tests
The bad.........the original floor mats are MIA and the windshield squirter does not squirt, 1 of the loops to open the 3 door compartment has torn loose.........thats it.
This car has absolutely no leaks, squeaks, rattles drips or smoke of any kind, anywhere on it. 100% reliable.
Price is $17,500 firm for this original car. Located Zip 18431, Honesdale , Pa, near Scranton. You can drive this one anywhere, leave your tool box home.
There has been no Bubba work ever done on this car and would be a great car for a person who just wants to drive an original & dependable corvette.
Thanks for looking, will post pix if there is any interest......i know it aint a collectible BB steel bumper, just a mint never abused , true low mile original survivor.

Ahhhhh, my kind of "simple" Corvette---No A/C, No Tilt/Tele, No Power Windows, No Factory A.I.R. Less stuff to go wrong---that is one nice '76 Ed. Love it, but I got too many coupes-could use a nice '75 roadster exactly like that '76. (for the same price )

Ed - I am coming to visit my parents in Lenoir City this weekend. Your car is awesome, but certainly out of my price range. Not sure if I can get away, but would love to come by and gawk a bit at such a nice car. Again - this would be a waste of your time, because I can't afford your car, but would love to come take a look.
Thanks,
BrentDev

you are making me cry right now. i got my 76 about two years ago and have been building it to be a pro street sense it needed almost everything. i have about 30k in my car right now but after seeing yours i wish i would have put my money in savings to wait for the perfect one which would be yours. 76 is the best year in my opinion. she is beautiful and now that ive seen her and know i cant buy her im gonna go sit in hte corner and cry

Hello Ed, I wish I would've known about the car before you moved to Tenn. I live in Martins Creek PA, and I have been looking for a nice 76 that doesn't need alot of work. Is your car still for sale? I am still very interested in your car. Thanks Terry

How'd the car make the trip from PA? No problems? If so nice shake out trip to see if all the cob webs from long term storage are worked out.
I'm thinking about the car, if you still have it. I have an 04, had a '90, would like a chrome bumper car, but for an "extra" vette, just don't want to pay the price. But being in Oklahoma, I'd have to decide about the non-a/c side of it. Pretty durn hot here in the summer and fall
