I’m thinking of selling my 1972 LT-1 to put more money into my business, I would like to get an idea how much I can get for it, you guys are great here and helped me out on the restore. Here are the specifics:
1972 LT-1 PS/PB/TT 4 speed M-21, numbers matching, orig color is pewter silver/blue interior, has a new 383 crate engine (around 1500 miles) in it but have the org LT-1 on stand
Runs and drives great. No rust on frame and windshield pillars, all has been done over.
Frame off has been done but not finished. Still needs a paint job and some things done including:
- Behind seats interior finished
- Lights/wiper door hooked up
- Paint and a little body work (nicks and some little cracks)
- Have most of the parts that it needs brand new
All high perf parts are installed (HAVE MOST ALL ORIGINAL PARTS THAT COULD BE SAVED) including:
- Performance plus suspension from Vette Brakes Products)
- Steeriods
- Brake power booster
- Brand new 2 1/4 side exhaust (original config from stainless works) with fiberglass covers
- Hedman side exhaust headers
Interior has all been redone except behind the seats needs to be finished (mentioned above)
Engine is brand new from AR Racing, 383 stroker with 440 hp, all high perf parts with around 1500 miles
MSD ignition
Aluminum rad with duel spal fans
New correctly dated windshield
Everything under the body is new or has been reconditioned including brand new trailing arms, new gas tank etc.
Well that’s it in a nut shell, what do you think its worth? Of course if I do decide to sell I will provide pics.
Within the past six weeks I sold a 1972 LT1 coupe, red/black, T & T, PS, PB, PW, stereo, original engine, trans, rear. This was a very nice car that I advertised on this site at $26,500 (I think). I sold it for $25,500 with great frame, interior and chassis. I thought I would have e-mails like crazy, but there was little interest in the car. Sold it locally.
It needed correct heads and carb, had service replacement, and smog pump.
Hope this helps a bit. Yes, it was a real red car.
