Default WANTED - Advice and '79 Shark

In the market for my first Corvette and welcoming any and all advice regarding purchasing a Vette (ie. dealers, private sellers, tips, etc).

While my dream is a '69 convertible, budget dictates a later model C3 Based on my research and desires, I've settled on looking at '79 Sharks for now
.
I'm in Miramar, Florida (right smack in between Ft. Lauderdale/Boca to the North and Miami/Homestead to the South). If any forum members are in those areas and have a nice lower mileage '79, L82 automatic with the front and back spoiler option up for sale, let me know. Colors are secondary right now to the specs above, but black, dark blue and yellow are preferred (not to say I will pass over a nice example in any other color). While not intended as a daily driver, I am interested in a weekender that I could also rely on to drive to events and shows as far as Orlando or the Keys occasionally. As close to original (i.e. no full engine replacements or repaints to a different color) as possible is preferable as well. That should hopefully cover it from a basics perspective. Looking forward to hearing from everyone and thanks in advance!!

Just like learning your way around computers for the first time. You get help to learn faster. Same with Vettes. Get someone that knows Vettes to go with you. Vettes have enough special traits that a bacic mechanic might miss. Good luck.
