dash pads

I don't think so. 68-76 upper pads will physically interchange, but I believe 77 is different because of the new dash. Pretty sure it is physically narrower than the earlier ones.

Great, I have 2 respected veterans with 2 different opinions. "I'm so confused" as Vinny Barbarino might say. Ecklers shows different part numbers for a 77, anyone know for sure?

I am going to change my opinion. The new dash was in 78. 77 got new center gauges-that is what I was thinking of, but the lower pads stayed essentially the same. The upper pad should interchange 68-77 accepting some speaker-hole differences.

Correct, '77 was last year for the old style dash pads, .....it was a 1/2 step year towards the new interior....sorta like they had the job 1/2 done, and decided to go into production....weird...

Actually it's not even close to "1/2".
78 got the new interior w/ a new dash top & bottom, new smaller speedo & tach, glovebox, etc., new door panels, etc., new seats in the Pace Car, etc., larger storage space, etc...
The console gauge panel was also changed in 78 to fit the new dash, white needles, etc.
77 - Mainly just the console incl. the console gauges & a shorter st. column.
So the 77 just had minor changes. The 68-77 design was so good that only minor changes were done for the last year of the 68-77 design.
