I let mine but she really don't like to because she is afraid she might get into a wreck. We have been married for 14yrs and has always said that she isn't a Vette kind of person. Then when I got mine she said her mind has changed. All it took was one drive. She is a gearhead so for that I'm very lucky. She drives a restored 71 Z/28.Hugger orange with white stripes so I'm not a bit worried letting her drive my Vette.

I wouldn't let the mechanic at the tranny shop test drive it after he put a new clutch in

I made the mistake of putting the title of my Blue '68 convertible in my wife's name BEFORE we got married for cheaper insurance-now, it's "HER" car. That's OK, as I picked up three more and made damn sure they were titled in my name

Mine just wants to be in the passengers seat when the vette is moving. She has no interest in driving it or so she says.

My girlfriend does not drive manual transmission cars. She also does not like being so low to the ground...she much prefers her Jeep. Ah, the wonders of her being only 5'1".

My 15 year old daughter has driven it a few times while I'm in the passenger seat. Talk about white knuckels and high blood pressure.

My wife could care less about the Vette or any other car, jus ta mode of transportation to her. She does not want to drive it because she can't see the front and is afraid she would run into something. Shes a tailgater. I don't like to ride when she is driving anything. No accidents in the 22 years she has driven. She drove my Camaro once and thought it was slow. She never got it into first. She was starting off in 3rd gear. I was behind her when this was happening, getting a whiff of burnt clutch.

Same boat. The wife took money out of savings to pay for it. I like riding in the passenger seat when she's driving. People just assume it's mine.

Well....although it's not driveable yet, this topic has been brought up more than once. Not by me.

She has been more than patient with me throughout the restoration, and has never said "boo" when I want to buy parts. Ever.

Although I hate the thought of the "ride" being away from me and out of my control, I also realize that it IS just a car (oh man, I hear the grumbling out there now...) But the most important thing to me in my life is my bride. (in case you're wondering, we have 20 notches in our gunbelts) Cars will come, and cars will go, but my "baby" is FOREVER!!

So...if she wants to take it out, then out "they" go

(while I stay behind and go until she returns)

Same thing here:
she'll kick-off her heels to take it out for a drive, but complains that it so-slow (a Cross-Fire.....)

Worst part is she has to kick her heels off.....
