Default my rearend is crooked?

ok , ok I knew that would get your attention. The back of my car sits 1.5 inches lower on the pass side (measuring from floor to top of deck lid) , but at the wheel wells they are the same height? no sign of damage on frame all fiberglass looks orig? Any ideas on this one?

Can't be body mounts since the wheel well is also part of the body, if the distance to the floor for the wheel wells is the same, yet for the deck lid it's different then I would suggest measuring the fiberglass itself, maybe there's 1,5" difference there.

WHen you look at the car from behind, is it Noticeable? I know mine sat about 1.5" lean on the drivers side, but it was do to a bad rear spring, and passanger front spring not seated right. I mearsured to the top center of the wheel well though. Trial and error.

If the height to the tops of the wheel are the same and the deck lid heigth is different then the distance from the wheel well to the dect lid must be diffent from side to side. Sounds like a goofy body.

that's what mine is off 1.5 , from behind it is noticeable , I thought it might have been the shocks , or spring but I can't imagine the back would be off but not the wheel wells. I'm going to slide under the car tonight and see if I can look or measure around the spring to see if I can see any differences.

there are 2 mounts in the rear wheel wells- # 4 & #3- if your looking at the tire,,# 4 is the one towards the bumper,,# 3 is the one above the trailering arm, and it has a acess cover... going towards the frount of car#2 is in the kick panels,, and #1 is in frt of # 2----------------- # 4 mount has a metal reinforcement,, that was totally rotten when i started on my car and the mount was broke thru the fiberglass, my whole car leaned a few inches on the side of the collasped mount,, after reading your post again you said that the wheel wells were the same height,,only the tops of the fenders were different,, in my case the wheel wells and the tops of the fenders were 1-1/2 lower than the other side- if you look on the web site i made ,,you can see a photo of the broken body where # 4 reiforcement plate is supposted to be--------------http://www.geocities.com/carlclub2/- another thing,,,, measure from the wheel well to the top of the fender,is it the same on both sides??? its supposted to be ,if not thats the problem

I didn't explain my measurements very well , I mearsued from the ground to the bottom lip of the wheel wells - they were the same. Then I measured from the ground to the top of the back deck lid on both sides (lined up tape mearsure with outside tail lights) - difference of 1.5 inches

I guess no one really cared to read what I posted, everyone is yelling about springs and body mounts. IT CAN'T BE THE CAUSE!! There

The measurement to the lip on the fender arch is the same on both sides, that means one thing, both sides have equal gap between the wheel and the fender. Then the top of the deck has a difference of 1.5 inches..the problem therefore MUST be in the body, not the body mounts and not the spring, there the wheel to fender gap would be different.

Like I said above, measure the distance from the fender lip to deck lid on both sides.

...but one other possible answer is that the floor is not flat. That's probably the best explanation, because the body being 1.5" shorter from side to side is too strange.

Not if it was wrecked and someone did some poor work and completely screwed panel fitting up.

I assume he measured on a flat surface, otherwise there is no reason to do the measurement.

who's yellin? anyhow now the thing is fine with a spring!!!! doesnt make any sense, the whole az end should be leaning if it was the spring.. the wheel wells would be lower as well as the top of the fender on that side!!!-- I THINK YOU HAVE A RUBBER RULER!!!!!!!!

Are you sure it's not a shock, they get blamed for everything!

It's amazing that people do not understand what a shock is and what it does.
