There's something unhappy about all this? To me, the only unhappy time is the waiting period while the stuff rides around the country in a Big Brown Truck. But once it gets there, it's just like Christmas!

When it is all installed it is going to make a great improvement in the drivability or your vette. Keep us updated on your progress when it arrives.

bob: thankfully single and not married here, and I definently can't keep that promise as I have alot more to get (Hpipe, mufflers, fuel pump, radiator, fiberglass front end/rear end, paint job, new hood and others Im forgetting).

jughead: not exactly lol especially because I probably wasn't alive when that picture was taken... and the second picture what the he11??? He must drive a vette to swing that girl

eddie: definently will do. I'm tearing down the front suspension today so it will be a bare frame for sandblasting, por-15 then downhill from there, reassembly!!

I have a 69 Camaro w/4spd and want to swap to 5 speed. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Where did you get your parts?

Don't I know it! I'm at about $18,000 (not including the car!) and still can't drive the thing 'cause the brakes are S H O T...That's another $600... I'm sure my story is similar to many others here. We should be thankful that we CAN spend 4-5 digits on parts to keep our cars on the road.

$3700 isn't so bad, is it?

If I were you, I'd check with Keisler who modifies the Tremec to fit vettes (and I think Camaros too) without cutting tranny tunnel or console since it puts a stock looking shifter in the stock position. Probably run you about $3k though. Do a search on this forum for info and a link to their website.

I have also heard of a company called Classic Chevy 5 speed that has decent pricing. Has anyone here heard of them?

That's who I ordered from. You can see all the parts I got: complete auto>man kit save the pedals and I'm getting my driveshaft shortened or they can supply one. Hydraulic clutch setup too

They just called yesterday and suprised me: Tremec sent them a shipment and I should have mine monday (ordered this monday). The only catch so far is that the offset shifter to get it to pop up in the stock location is being fabricated and will ship out Jan 1 of next year so I may be twirling my thumbs for a couple weeks but at least it will give me time to save up for the body work

Bry

PS: Their knowledge and customer service was great!
