Traitor...I don't think so. The Z06 still a Corvette, and one hell of a Corvette at that...I've driven a couple of them and the power and feel of the car is intoxicating. I toyed with the idea with selling my '70 and buying a new one a few months back, but I'm too attached to the car to get rid of it...that and the C3 isn't a dime a dozen like the C5 is around here. I still may get one later on to park next to it, but the C3 is here to stay.

Go for it, but you'll be back for a chat in non-snob C3 world

You'll miss us terribly

I would only do it if I could also keep my C3. I really enjoy working on vettes, customizing etc. C3's are perfect for that. I would not likely do much of that with a C5.

I don't think you're a traitor.... They're all Corvettes right?

I've got a '75 and an '04. The '75 isn't in that great of shape, but honestly, it gets more compliments.

Also, wait until you wanna throw an exhaust on the C5. Gonna run you a minimum of $700 for a decent setup; some are over $1000. Just giving you all factors to consider.

DO IT! you'll love it, it's an incredible car, and still a Corvette. I had a 01 vert and I miss it big time. Still love my 73, but vettes are like kids, you love them all!

Z06s are awesome cars. Though i'd wait for the C6 Z06 if i was you. Even if you werent planning on buying new the C6 Z06 will make the C5 a hella lot cheaper.

I'd just put all that money into upgrading the C3, though. For the cost of a Z06, you could build a C3 that's almost as good in some areas and better in others. and you don't have to deal with crap like computers and other complicated crap on new cars. NEW CARS ARE NOT FUN TO WORK ON!!

At least you can drive a vette to our luncheons.... kidding. Keep the LT1 and finance the Z. The Z is heading down hill fast in value and will only go back up around 2020. Are you willing to wait that long to get your money back. Your C-3 will be worth about $50,000 to $70,000 then.

C6 has already hit ZO6 values hard. New C6 ZO6 is going to hit em even harder! Meanwhile the C3 retains its value. They are 2 very different things. One is a hobby, almost an investment - at least holds its value. The other is pure consumption! Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I hear you on braindead, all my hang out buddies have c4 or c5 cars except for couple and they get thrilled with a new shift **** or valve covers that are color keyed...woo woo. Anyway, wife will probably divorce me if I buy the c5 and she hates c3..go figure how to please her. I may get c5 and buy my c3 back later date. Hey buddy, are you going to swap meet in Fort Worth this weekend??? I am planning on going over, it is old arlington meet.
