Default Where do I buy the Hooker Headers & Pipes from now that the engine is out.

Now the engine is out and going for a rebuild. The front and rear suspension is done! I have the Be Cool radiator and fans already, but where should I buy the Hooker headers and side pipes from? Any suggestions would be helpful please, and tips and hints for when I have to put it all back together, if ya'll don't mind.

Thanks in advance.

Bought mine from Summit. Skip the Hooker muffs and spend the money on the JCL inserts if you want to get the most out of your motor.

Summit sells them
www.summitracing.com
jegs might

If you want coated, get Jet Hot! I've never tried them myself, but heard it's worth the money. Whatever you do, dont buy the Hooker ceramic coating. I have tried it, and it doesnt hold up well.

Oh, and forget the mufflers...if you can.

I bought my hooker headers direct from Jet Hot. They coat the headers inside and out. Its a ceramic coating that helps with heat and rust.

Mine will hopefully be here this week.
$1080.00 for the headers and pipes with their Sterling coating,
I think that includes shipping too, but don't quote me on that part.

You have enogh on the locate the pipes.. I give my .02 on the inserts. What you put inside depends on your expected power range. If you are only shoot for around 250 RWHP or less then the glasspacks from hooker are adequate. anything more and I would strongly suggest the JCLs. Just the plain steel ones are fine. I dynoed at 339 RWHP with glasspacks and it went up ~~30HP with JCLs. Plus the pipes were turning gold while restricted...

PS: I have a set of glasspack inserts for $50 used 2 months...

Default Thanks

I just wanted to say thanks for the advice.
I'll give Jet Hot a call later today and get my order in and then order the spiral baffles as well.
The engine is supposed to be pushing between 400 to 450 HP when completed. The spiral baffles sound like the way I should go.
