If someone says "Chrome Bumper C3", does that include...

IMO, yes since aesthetically, the rear with the chrome bumpers and spoiler contrasts much more with the rounded plastic rearend of the later cars than the changes in the front for that year did. Unfortunately, the value of the 73's is always much less than the earlier, comparitively-equipped chrome bumper cars so most of the others don't see it the same way.

I ask because when the wife wanted to buy a C3, I was hoping she was interested in the two years that are my favorites... 1973 and 1982CE.
She said she wanted chrome bumpers on any C3 she would purchase. I picked-up a Classic Car Trader classifieds and started circling any 1968 through 1973. When she looked through it, she pointed at an ad for a 1973 (front view pic on;y ) and asked why I had highlighted it... "it doesn't have chrome bumpers?".
When I told her about the unique-ness of the 1973 and how it had chrome bumbers on the rear (and then showed her better pics of the 1973) she said "that is what I want then". Which made my day
But then it got me wondering if Vette enthusiasts include the 1973 in the "chrome bumper C3" genre.

While the rear bumper is still chrome, it has one key difference from the true chrome bumper cars - rubber body mounts. This is evidence that 73 was the first year in the progression from sports car to doctor's car. For that reason, I think it doesn't fit in with the other chrome bumper cars.
IMO, though, it is better! Joe

Which... she purchased last year from New York, with 59k original miles !
it was a tough task to find what she wanted.
the specifics from her on a 1973 were:
white exterior
red or black interior
must have PS
must have PB
must have PW
must have auto trans
Thank god that most of the 1973 production are still running today

Larry Shinoda, the famous Corvette designer, once commented in an interview that the 1973 was his favorite of the post-1967 era because the front and rear styling were closest to what the stylists originally had in mind when this series was first designed. (quote from "Illustrated Corvette Buyer's Guide" by Michael Antonick).
