Default different seats in a c3

well,
it's almost time to start the interior but i'm still looking for some seats.. i like the pace car ones that fold in the middle of the back but they are crazy expensive and always need to be redone...... i like some of the racing bucket seats but not when they have the brand name written all over them........ anyone have any pics to share

Take this for what it is worth, but I saw someone who had put Pontiac Fiero seats in there C-3. Seems like they posted pics here on the forum as well. They looked very god in the car and like they belonged. Looked very factory. Seems like I remember the person saying they were very comfortable....much more so than the original Vette seats. Anyway...just another option to throw out there for you.

I will add one for the fiero seats,I bought a set that have been recovered in leather. They are not installed but I have sat in them and they are comfortable. Can't remember the fella here that did his in white leather but his post is what turned me to the fiero seats. Plus they were a bit more economical. Do a search and it should pop up, it has not been too long ago. Before I pulled the trigger on the fiero seats, I was looking at C5, C4 and Corbeau. It will depend on what you want and how much you want to pay. C5 seats will set you back at least $600, C4 seats a bit less but you might have to recover them and corbeau have several varieties from racing to performance seats ranging from $450 on up. On most any alternate seat it will require some modification to the seat track or seat pan as few are direct replacements. I think Speed Direct has custom tracks available for a variety of alternate seats that will bolt up to exisiting locations. Depending on how you want to recover your original seats it will cost about $350 on the low end for new foam and covers.

I have seen some nice C4 leather seats for $500 range on Ebay.
I think the seller was Fparts. They deal in vette and F-body stuff.

Example:

Im the one with pontiac fiero seats in my 78 and they are very confortable .Just one thing they sit higher than the corvette seats but for up to 5`8" i don't think it will be a problem.

Default Fiaro

Well that cuts me out of the herd.....6'4". I'm gonna try some leather Recaros though...Picked them up at a Yard sale..Not too bad , Thinkin I can spray m with some blue dye to make m match. Did that with a lot of console parts in my Blazer and it worked out realy well. The spray I use is Simms it has worked pretty well down through the years. Even the white, I had a a 68 Ranchero GT with a 390 tri- power and I wonted the buckets white, (The exterior was Canary Yello) and it worked out realy well for the black buckets. Had to take them to tan first though....Any Agree's out there?

I put Fiero seats in another project car (68 Cougar), and the built in head rest speakers would be a nice touch if you could put in better speakers. How did these Fiero seats bolt in? Are they a direct bolt in to the Corvette's factory seat mount locations with there existing tracks? or do you have to attach them to the vette's seat tracks to mount them?

According to Den (the vetteman) he had to weld a bracket on the front of the tracks but the back ones were OK. He posted that in the same thread with that pic. I have not gotten that far with mine but his diagram was simple.

here are the modification i made to my corvette track to bolt the fiero seats. The bolt of fiero seats are closer than the vette one ,so i welded a piece of steel on each end of the track and drilled new hole .
