New wheels and tires are in and they fit inside the flares!!
I have added flares to the car which gives about a 1 inch flare in the front and 1.75 inch in the rear. The flares are panels for Vancours that I have cut down to just the flare and will attached to the body with small hardware that will be body color and this way I can remove as needed for suspension access or repairs. I tired some old flares of a racer but the fronts didn't have enough material left at the attachement points.
Anyway the wheels and tires arrive today from CCW in Daytona FL (www.ccwheels.com). These folks did a great job of working with me over the phone to make sure everything would fit and one of the guys there used to have a C3. The wheels are the street 3 piece ones with the black anodized centers.
Even with the monster tires everything fit! It even clears the parking brake bracket on non offset trailing arms.
The fronts are 10.5 x17 with 275/40-17 Kuhmo MX rubber and the rears are 12x18 with 295/35-18 MX rubber.
These things look great and once the flares are ready for paint the car will look sharp and really stick. Now I need the cage to make use of the wheels and tires.
can't wait to try the these babys out along with the 5 speed box (richmond) I'm finishing up.

Ditto the pics! This is almost exactly what I'm planning for my car, but I'll glass in the flares permanently and go 18" F&R. What backspacings did you decide on?

I have a couple of pics however not sure how to post on this site. With the flares still gelcoat black against the faded claret they're not too pretty (paint job over the winter is the plan).
Wheels look great though

I would love to see pictures too. I am skeptical about 12 inch wide wheels that clear the emergency brake cable and don't need offset trailing arms. Your offset must be close to stock and that means alot of hang out even with 1 3/4 inch flares
I am anxious for groovjay to post the pictures.

Thanks to Jay for his offer I sent him a few pics to post. They'll give you an idea of the fit even though ride hieght hasn't been set (rear a bit low and front a bit high.
Now I nee to finish the work on the flares so I can send them out for paint.

Ok, the pics are up! Due to the time difference I was fast a sleep when you sent the pics, but here they are and they are looking great!
As the project moves on don't hesitate to send some more pics, I'm happy to post them here for others to see

They look good and once the body and paint is done they will be nice. I keep thinking about doing the same but don't want to wreck my existing paint job.
The backs seem to be more then 1.75 wide. I like the shape and how well they cover the wheel.
It will look good some day.

The wheels look good. Are you going to stay with the factory color or changing?
